00:00Van Aert and Pedersen, 150 metres to go. Van Aert locked onto the wheel of Pedersen.
00:06Can Van Aert come round him? The steep slopes remain, but Pedersen has the power to hold him off.
00:11Van Aert with one final lunge. Pedersen, it's going to be victory number four.
00:17Van Aert in second place and Isaac del Toro beaten into third with a time bonus.
00:23A long stage, stage 14, 195 kilometres, starting out from the city of Treviso.
00:30And a flat approach to a series of difficulties and three Category 4 climbs and a finishing circuit in and out of Slovenia in the town of Nova Gorica or Gorizia, to give it its Italian name.
00:42Should be a day for the fast men. Sam Bennett looking for his first win.
00:45Van Aert and Olaf Koi looking to consolidate their giri.
00:49And Primoz Roglic proudly taking the Giro d'Italia into his home country.
00:54The flag dropping promptly on kilometre zero and an unexpectedly aggressive start to the race.
01:00The first 20 or 30 kilometres ridden at a fast tempo and blown on by a tailwind.
01:05A big chase group went clear containing Wout Van Aert, but they were brought back and then the second counter-attack stuck.
01:11Powered on by Kasper Asgren, five riders got clear.
01:14Louis Meinckes decided that it was too much and the wrong day for him.
01:20And he dropped back, leaving just four riders at the front of the race and the peloton keeping a very, very close eye on them.
01:26Their gap no bigger ever than around about one and a half minutes.
01:30Through the first of the intermediate sprints in bright sunshine, Mirko Maestri took the maximum points.
01:34And then there was a duel between Dries de Bont and Maz Pedersen for the one remaining point.
01:38Dries de Bont unexpectedly out-sprinting Pedersen.
01:41On the long flat roads then, the weather ahead started to threaten rain and the rain then started to fall.
01:47Through the second sprint, it was a slight reversal as Marcin Marcellusi of VF Group Bardiani took the maximum points.
01:54And Maz Pedersen just edged out Dries de Bont for that final point.
01:58Steven Kreisbeck and Visma Lisebeck still controlling the breakaway and keeping them tight.
02:03The time gap coming down to around about a minute as they headed to the Red Bull kilometre,
02:07which Mirko Maestri beat Marcin Marcellusi at.
02:11And the four riders still continued to work together and built up a bit more of a lead
02:14as they headed eventually towards Slovenia and towards the first of the categorised climbs,
02:21the San Martino climb.
02:23At which point they had an advantage of around about one minute and 20 seconds
02:27when they hit the 3.5 kilometre climb with an average gradient of 5%.
02:31Four riders still together again, at least for now, with a 1 minute 30 second advantage.
02:40But on the slopes of the climb, one of the riders found it a little bit too much.
02:43Groupama FTJ's Clement Davi dropping away, leaving three riders off the front,
02:48holding on to a lead over the top of the climb of around about a minute
02:52and into the wet roads of the finishing circuit in Gorizia.
02:57Then a big crash behind.
02:58Isaac Del Toro on the ground, but so too was Giulia Ciccone of Lidl Trek in pain.
03:04And Maz Pedersen, his teammate, already out of contention in the hunt for the stage win.
03:08Over the top of the Saver climb then, the riders still had a 50 second lead at the front of the race,
03:16but the race was in bits behind.
03:18A front group containing Simon Yates, Richard Carapaz and Isaac Del Toro
03:22were trying to hold off a second group with Roglic and Ayuso in,
03:26and a third group off the back with Antonio Tiberi losing a lot of time on GC.
03:31Giulio Pellizzari tried to close the gap for Primoz Roglic and for Juan Ayuso
03:36to bring them back into the GC hunt.
03:38over the last couple of years, battling illness and injury.
03:45Kasper Asgreen win once again, wins once again.
03:49And EF Education first, take win number two at the Giro d'Italia.
03:53That was nothing short of sensational by Asgreen, the motor behind the breakaway.
03:59He wins, and he wins by a handsome margin over the chase that was powerless to do anything.
04:04Behind, it was a sprint for second place.
04:11It went the way of Caden Groves ahead of Olaf Khoi, and then there were time gaps to the Roglic Ayuso group,
04:18and eventually to the third group across the line containing Antonio Tiberi.
04:22Michel Honoré on hand, as well as Richard Carapaz to congratulate their teammate as EF Education Easy Post produce another victory.
04:31The Italian aerobatics team as well displaying the national colours of Italy as a Dane popped open the champagne cork.
04:39Kasper Asgreen, the winner of the stage from the breakaway once again, ahead of Caden Groves by 16 seconds.
04:46Isak del Toro navigating all the pitfalls and the difficulties in the pink jersey.
04:51Simon Yates moving up to second place, and Juan Ayuso dropping to third.
04:54Carapaz now in fourth.
04:56Big shake-up in the general classification, and no real change in the Malia Ciclamino.
05:00Maz Pedersen, a rare bad day for him.
05:03Olaf Khoi made up a little bit of ground for third place at the line.
05:07Not much to say about Lorenzo Fortunato's day.
05:10He's got a big day tomorrow, though, and a healthy, healthy lead in the King of the Mountains competition.
05:16And Isak del Toro continuing for yet another day in the white jersey as well.
05:21Juan Ayuso still in second place in that competition.
05:36I'll see you tomorrow soon.
05:39And I'll see you tomorrow.
05:41Alright, I'll see you tomorrow.
05:43Yeah, guys.
05:44Hey, what's up with you?
05:46This is our final question.
05:48I'll see you tomorrow.
05:49You won't be a good day at the King of the Mountains.
05:51We'll be a good day.
05:53I'm gonna be a good day after we get up on the other side.
05:56I'm going back to the King of the Mountains with the U.S.
