00:00now 2024-25 for bristol city was filled with mixed emotions obviously making it
00:07to the top six and falling short in the semi-final against sheffield united but still
00:13a very valiant campaign as a whole especially in 2025 and liam manning got these sort of
00:20ideas across he got the group galvanized the group were were back together and firing again
00:25and their form in stages of the season was was you know they were the very best in the
00:30championship so um you know in terms of their form in terms of individuals throughout the side
00:36um we're going to look at the player of the season the people in line to maybe go and
00:41and pick up that award whether it's the fans or um you know fellow players as well but looking at
00:46as a whole individually um there has been some fantastic performances there has been some
00:51some huge performances from players huge bit of consistency from a number of players and
00:56especially in the core of that group um dan our bristol correspondent is going to look into
01:01the the player of the season debate who possibly is likely to go to dan what are your thoughts on
01:07on individuals for bristol city this season there has been um you know a fair bit of consistency a
01:12fair few making some standout performances as well so who do you think uh will and the player of the
01:19season award honorable mentions as well and who maybe deserves it in your eyes from following
01:24bristol city this season well charles for me my bristol city player of the season would probably
01:31be scott twain just for some of the free kicks he scored and i think he was a real powerhouse in that
01:35midfield as well but of course his technical ability was proven on a number of occasions with
01:40the number of set pieces that he managed to put in the back of the net now of course the official
01:44player of the season went to the captain jason knight and you can't dispute that really
01:48from their perspective because of course he led this team all the way to the playoffs somewhere
01:53where they haven't been for for many many years in the championship and so he certainly deserves
01:57immense credit as well for what he's achieved as captain of bristol city under liam manning's
02:02stewardship and guidance ship but i think i i'd have to go with with scott twain of course other
02:09notable mentions uh would be the likes of anis for metty i know he ended the season more on the bench
02:13but certainly he's someone who's got that ability that bit of star quality i think uh at bristol city
02:19the young albanian certainly and you were the back of the net was at times as well last season and
02:24whilst he didn't always get his full chance i think he's certainly one who will continue to develop
02:28as well into the future at the robins you could even look at at naki wells i know a bit of an older
02:34player as well but certainly just his experience uh shone through at times for bristol city and i think
02:39that's really really important as well and of course you look at the likes of george earthy too
02:44scoring some really important goals off the bench so lots of players you could look at for bristol
02:50city in terms of their player of the season but if it was up to me i'd be going for scott twain i think
02:55in in scott twain they've got someone who is so versatile and and so gifted in terms of what he can do
03:01from from dead ball situations but also uh on the ball during the game as well so for me scott twain
03:07bristol city's player of the season but as i say i think we also have to talk about jason knight
03:12i know we did briefly just there but for someone like him to be the the captain of bristol city to
03:18guide them back into the championship playoffs after so many years away it deserves a mention and i
03:23can understand why the the award went to him of course liam manning placed his trust in him by
03:29making him captain so you have to give credit to liam manning for that for picking someone who of
03:35course was able to carry the burden of being captain of such a club but he did it with real
03:40ability as well and and always just showed great honor dignity as well in that role so he gets the
03:48official award although my award goes to scott twain but for bristol city just i think as a whole
03:54as a collective you could pick a number of players for for for that accolade because of course what a
03:59season it's been for them of course we we can look back all we want but they need to actually look
04:03forward uh bristol city they need to take the lessons from this season just go on and use them
04:09effectively going into the new campaign and make sure they got get the summer transfer window right
04:14uh to make sure that they are in contention and once again being in the playoffs perhaps even higher
04:19up in the league next season uh in the championship because of course if they could go one step further
04:24into the perhaps the playoff final well that would be phenomenal for them but if we look back once
04:30again though at the playoff the season the official one goes to jason knight but in my opinion scott twain
04:35my player of the season just for some of the moments the stand-up moments that he produced
04:39in a bristol city shirt this season scott twain what a player
04:42you
