So Gerjot, you're kind of like team captain on this expedition aren't you?
00:03
Yeah.
00:04
So Wolverhampton Grammar School and where is it you're about to embark to?
00:08
So we're going to go from St B's all the way across to...
00:12
Robin Hood's Bay.
00:14
Ah, it's a beautiful place, yeah.
00:16
And Mr Anderson, you're the headteacher?
00:18
I am indeed, yeah.
00:19
So what's this all about then? What are the pupils getting out of this?
00:22
Teamwork, the experience of having to run through the day and the night in a relay,
00:27
working together, raising money for an important course,
00:31
which we're raising money for the neonatal unit at New Cross Hospital, which is fantastic.
00:36
Yeah.
00:37
And just a lifetime that they'll never ever forget.
00:40
It's just one of those experiences that students have been on this trip before,
00:43
talk about for years and years to come.
00:46
Do you remember Coast to Coast? Do you remember when we got rained on?
00:49
Do you remember Dr Bradley getting us lost or whatever it might be?
00:53
So it is an absolutely marvellous experience.
00:55
But the best thing for me is they bring their parents along.
00:58
Yeah.
00:59
And their parents can experience it with them.
01:01
That's good, isn't it? That's great.
01:03
And so what is the physical challenge of it?
01:05
What's the distance they have to do?
01:07
So we're doing 170 miles and the aim is to do it within 24 hours.
01:12
What?!
01:13
That's crazy, isn't it?
01:15
30 minutes on the running, isn't it Coach?
01:17
Yeah, 30 minute relays.
01:18
Yeah.
01:19
So have you been physically doing your training and building up to it, yeah?
01:23
So we started 16 weeks ago and we've done a 60 week programme running near enough every day.
01:28
Yeah, yeah.
01:29
And closing twice a day.
01:30
Wow.
01:31
And we've just done a little presentation to a family.
01:33
I understand they've kind of funded the bags, the expedition bags and the boards, is that right?
01:37
Yes, that's right.
01:38
So they're a family who are parents in the school who have their own company and they've funded that.
01:44
And we've had other funds, if you look, on this shirt here.
01:47
Yeah.
01:48
Tony Davis and partner.
01:50
Great stuff.
01:51
Painting, decorating and sponsor.
01:52
And yeah.
01:53
Ah, yes.
01:54
Yeah, great stuff.
01:55
Great stuff.
01:56
Well, we wish you all the best, Skirja.
01:58
So how are you feeling gang, before you're just about to set off?
02:01
You're going to pop by Newcross, aren't you?
02:03
To kind of say hello to the neonatal guys.
02:06
So you kind of, are you excited?
02:08
Are you nervous?
02:09
A bit of everything.
02:10
Yes.
02:11
Excited.
02:12
Mostly excited.
02:13
And do you all think you're physically ready?
02:15
You've all done your prep and your training?
02:17
Yeah.
02:18
Yeah.
02:19
Well, there's a few.
02:20
Well, we wish you all the best guys.
02:23
