How a Canberran is already eying up the back garden to turn it into housing.
Transcript
00:00This area is an unused area, especially for me. It's garden, which is nice, but it's an
00:08opportunity for me to put something down with a modular granny flat, for example, that can give
00:17my family somewhere to live. They don't have to be worrying about, is the landlord going to sell
00:24up? Are they going to be looking for their next home? Are they going to be priced out of their
00:30apartment because the body corporate is now $15,000 a year? Or any of those things are no
00:37longer become an issue. And it gives a safe, stable place for them to be. Nobody's always in a
00:45position where they can get deposits and have homes. And this way, if this legislative change
00:51comes across, then what it's going to do, and I think a lot of people would do this for
00:56their families, is create opportunities for you to give them independent living at a reasonable
01:04cost that is otherwise unavailable to.
