Dramatic pictures show a line of mums holding their babies while heading inside St Michael’s hospital after a fire broke out.

Fire crews were sent to the hospital on Southwell Street on Thursday evening (May 22)

Pregnant women and babies were moved outside of the building with the support of the hospital crew, who provided them with blankets and food.

Several pregnant mums could be seen outside the hospital in distress as a they were led back in in a line.

According to accounts gathered from the scene some mums and babies were moved to the nearby library building and others to the Bristol University Life Sciences building.
