00:00Tresius Bosch was born on March 14, 1966 in Transfell.
00:04He was a talented South African fastballer who represented his country in one touch match
00:10and two one-day international in 1992.
00:13In this video, you will see Tresius Bosch in action during the third ODI against the
00:17West Indies at Port of Spain in 92-93 series.
00:21Although he was unfortunate not to take any wickets that day, he gave it his all.
00:26He bowled 6 overs but ended up conceding 47 runs in a tough spell.
00:31Still this footage brings back cherished memories of South African cricket history and gave us
00:36a chance to watch Tresius Bosch in action once again, a reminder of his brief yet proud contribution
00:42to the national team.
00:56He only bowled 2 overs.
00:59Oh my goodness me, that was not the most judicious of strokes by Simmons.
01:03He could so easily have got an edge there.
01:07He saw him in the last over force one down to third man off the back foot like that.
01:16So he's intent on getting on with it from the outset.
01:19Big appeal.
01:21They go through for the leg by.
01:24Umpire Lloyd Barker will have none of it.
01:26And perhaps going just down the leg side.
01:30I think it started just outside the leg stump.
01:34I think that's probably the reason why he did not get the decision.
01:40It's amazing, isn't it?
01:43What a wicket will do for a side.
01:45That's a better looking stroke from Lara, going away, pursued by Snell, and they come back
01:58for three.
01:59Over the edge again, it bounced in front of Vessels, he couldn't stop that, it bounced awkwardly
02:13for him, and away it went before, but again, the bats, the bowler beating the bat, finding
02:20the edge.
02:21And a good delivery by Bosch, and another stroke of good fortune for the West Indian
02:26batsman.
02:27Again, that not carrying, the last over we saw one that didn't carry two Vessels.
02:34That was in fact a no ball, you can see umpire Lloyd Barker signalling there, so in a sense
02:40it was much ado about nothing, but it was still a very good delivery.
02:47Bosch can't believe it, Simmons coming forward, again coming back into the right-hander, going
02:55down the leg side perhaps.
02:58You see where he delivers it from, falls away a bit and so it's from quite wide and definitely
03:06coming back, and although he's not that far forward, slanting.
03:13He's chopped it down to third man, that's an edge, but he deliberately made room for
03:20himself to play the cut shot, he knew that there was no danger, but he did edge it, and
03:25he did, but it travelled away very quickly through the vacant steps, four more runs.
03:28Yes, this one was quite wide, and he got a thick edge, uh, just wide of the wicket keeper,
03:35and the third man, uh, just couldn't get it, it was too fine for him, not a fourth of Simmons.
03:40Score now 109, the truth.
03:43But he can't get onto that one, that's hammered away by Simmons.
03:50So two successive fours, and there was no edge about that.
03:55That was a cracking spare cut actually, he hit that with, uh, quite a lot of force.
03:58There it was, and not a man moved with that.
04:02Beautiful shot there for a film still in a suit.
04:21That's four more, 21 off the rover, three fours and a six for Phillip Simmons.
04:27The Queen's Park oval is jumping, and the West Indies are a hundred and thirteen,
04:33hundred and twenty-three for two at the end of the thirty-second over.
04:37It over the extra cover boundary.
04:47Oh, a marvellous stroke, that's going away for four.
04:50As hell's not going to stop that, the crowd are absolutely loving it, look at them.
04:54Isn't that marvellous?
04:57Pure, unadulterated Caribbean joy.
05:00And Simmons has broken his bat.
05:03I think, in fact, it's the second bat he's broken in this innings.
05:10I don't think the money...
05:11Precious Bosch was one of the South African fastest ballers, just like Alan Donner.
05:15He passed away on February 13, 2000, in West Philly, near Durban.

05:25In 2004, Bosch's sisters went to court to stop his wife from getting his property.
05:30Earlier, Bosch and his wife had a maid will, giving everything to each other.
05:35But later, Bosch wrote some personal notes accusing his wife of being unfaithful.

06:31Later, Bosch moved to Natal to focus on his dentistry career.
06:35He played well during the 1996-1997 season, when young players like Sean Pollock and Lance Klusner were just starting out.
06:43Despite being a fastballer, Precious Bosch had a soft and shy personality.
06:48He did not have the aggressive attitude often seen in fastballers.
06:52He left behind his wife and two children.
06:55Precious Bosch was surrounded by mystery, though it was said he died from a rare virus.
07:00His body was dug up 18 months later, and new reports suggested that he might have been poisoned.
07:06Before he died, Bosch had even hired someone to watch his wife because he thought she was cheating on him.
07:12Precious Bosch started his cricket career while studying dentistry at Pretoria University in 1986-87.
07:19He later moved to Natal and helped the team win two championships.
07:23His son Corbin Bosch was only five years old when Precious died.
07:27Corbin grew up with the sadness of losing his father but followed in his footsteps to become a fastballer.
07:33Corbin was coached by Ray Jennings, who also knew and played with Precious.
07:37Jennings remembers Precious Bosch as a truly great person and have been supporting Corbin for many years.
