00:00Despite the ongoing halt in Georgia's bid to join the European Union,
00:04the government says it's fully committed to a full accession to the EU by 2030.
00:10And so far, the country has already completed 60% of the requirements for the treaty.
00:16That's according to Levan Davitashvili, the first vice prime minister
00:19and minister of economy and sustainable development of Georgia,
00:22whom I spoke to on the sidelines of the Qatar Economic Forum here in Doha.
00:27Davitashvili said that there's been what he calls no real shift in policy
00:32and that the integration agenda has been formally adopted by the government
00:36with wide-ranging reforms targeted towards the goal of 2030.
00:41You know, there are many speculations about our accession path,
00:44but there is no real shift in our policy.
00:47We have the only policy which is the integration agenda.
00:51That's formally adopted by the government
00:55and that also is in the process of implementation by all institutions,
01:00all government institutions, all ministries and agencies.
01:03So our ministry is also, of course, focal point on deep and comprehensive
01:07free trade agreement implementation agenda, which is quite broad,
01:11and we have already implemented almost 60% of our requirements.
01:16but we are very active in implementation of our significant reforms in economy
01:21and in different sectors of economy, including transport, energy, trade, and so on.
01:27So that's a priority agenda that still remains as our top priority.
01:32We are fully focused on implementation of PCFTA and integration policy.
01:38We have clearly declared that our target is full-field membership by 2030.
01:42We understand it's a long process, but we are fully focused to implement this significant reform
01:48and we are still loyal to these reforms and this process goes in a very active way.
