00:00Here we have the planet, here's the globe, and right up top here is Greenland.
00:07And you can see how high it is in latitude. It's almost like the North Pole there.
00:11My mapping in the off-season is quite a process.
00:14First I do as much research as I can.
00:16I look for as many papers that have been written, geologic maps that have been written.
00:22That's the way science kind of works.
00:24You don't try to reinvent the wheel.
00:26You have a target. You have an idea of an area that maybe has rubies or sapphires or diamonds.
00:32You do the research. You look at existing maps.
00:35And then what I do is I take that information and I interpret it.
00:38I continually focus in tighter and tighter on an area.
00:42And I eventually prepare my own geologic map of the area and go from that.
00:48This is the map of Storo from last year.
00:51I put this together before last season.
00:53And I basically did the same process that I described.
00:57I've got the different rock types plotted on here.
01:00I had specific areas that we went and looked at.
01:03We weren't just throwing darts at a map when we were out there in Storo.
01:07And we found gold in four places on there.
01:10And we were looking at specific geologic locations that showed progress.
01:14Being out in the field and confirming that this formation is actually where I thought it was.
01:19And more than that, you know, it's like a treasure map.
01:22Is the treasure where I put the X on the map?
01:25And if it is, it's fantastic.
01:28All right, Josh, I want to do a quick check of the map and GPS to see where we're at.
01:32You know, we're right in this zone, but we're going to have to determine the exact location ourselves.
01:38They don't give you a specific Latin launch where gold has been found.
01:42You have to interpret a map, and then you have to decide, I think this is the location.
01:47It may be that zone right in there is what we want to look at.
01:50Let's get on a move.
01:51Yeah, let's move it.
01:52Let's go.
01:53All right.
01:54You know, I could be off a decimal point in my calculations, and that could throw us off by a half mile.
01:58That half mile could mean the difference between getting to our location and not.
02:02Yeah, I mean, being out here is sort of the, for me, it's the culmination of what I've done over the off season, the whole off season.
02:09My research, my planning, putting X's on maps.
02:13Being out here is the culmination of all that work.
02:16I'm not by any means ready to give up.
02:18I'm just getting started.
