00:00I
00:30We're here on the black carpet.
00:59On the black carpet.
01:00That's appropriate.
01:01It is appropriate.
01:02It's appropriate, yeah.
01:02We're at the Ballerina at Premier.
01:04How are you feeling right now?
01:05I'm feeling great.
01:07I feel it's exciting and a relief in a sense of we've been waiting to show this and share
01:13it with audience for a long time.
01:16And this is wild.
01:17This is, you know, the celebration of a movie is always, it's the fun part.
01:24And I'm a massive John Wick fan.
01:26And it has been since the first movies.
01:28Absolutely love it.
01:29What was it like for you stepping into the world of John Wick?
01:33It was surreal at times.
01:36And just, I'm such a fan of the films.
01:40And, you know, Keanu's become so iconic in this role.
01:46So even when, just when he puts on the suit and stuff, it's, to me, it's like the, you
01:52know, the kid growing, it's like seeing Indiana Jones in a hat and Whip and all that.
01:57It just has that kind of quality to it.
02:00Absolutely.
02:00It's the best.
02:00And a lot of, when we think of, you know, the great stunt performers and great stunt
02:04actors, it's very male dominated.
02:06How incredible is it that we're seeing a woman at the forefront of an action movie?
02:11Oh, yeah.
02:11We need more of it.
02:12I've been, look, I've, I kind of started my career with female action, you know, movie.
02:18It's, it's something that I think we need more of and we need more in, also, I think
02:23the, in the appropriate tone.
02:25Absolutely.
02:26Well, I've done a wee bit of stunt work in the past.
02:29Not quite anything near this, but I know how challenging it is.
02:33Who got hurt on set?
02:34Was there any moments where anyone got hurt?
02:36Just me.
02:36Just you?
02:37Just me.
02:38Yeah.
02:38Did you just get in the way?
02:39No, just my, just my soul when we had to like pull the plug or shut down.
02:43Um, yeah, I, I just, no one, no one got hurt.
02:47Um, people get, get battered and bruised and, you know, need to take a break, uh, for sure.
02:54Because I saw Anna saying that they kind of let her almost improvise a little bit around
02:59the stunts and I was like, oh, because normally it's meant to be so choreographed so that no
03:03one does get hurt.
03:04Well, it's true.
03:05Well, it's both.
03:06A lot of it is.
03:07And it's so, it's so choreographed.
03:10Um, and then other things that you get inspired by, if I, you know, a lot, when I'm location
03:14scouting and then, or even building the set and things inspire you.
03:19So you, you change it.
03:20So we've, yes, absolutely practice.
03:22And she also has to be ready for suddenly me going, you know, it would be cool tomorrow.
03:29Um, and she's so game.
03:32So it's your fault, basically.
03:33It's my fault.
03:35Well, listen, it's lovely to see you.
03:36Good luck.
03:36I cannot wait to see this.
03:38Thank you so much.
03:39Lovely to chat to you.
04:09Nice to see you.
04:12Has he got a scarf on?
04:13It's a bit nippy.
04:14I mean, I think it's roasting, but I am Scottish, so do you know what I mean?
04:18I hear you.
04:19We all good?
04:20I can't believe you've got a scarf on in British summer, but I'll let you away with it.
04:24It's like LA winter.
04:26Listen, we're here, ballerina premiere.
04:28I'm so excited for this.
04:30I've been a fan of John Wick for so long.
04:33How exciting is it that you're getting to kind of extend the John Wick universe?
04:36It's pretty incredible.
04:38I mean, just to get to work with Anna and to try and expand what we already love in a
04:43world or a playground we like to play in and bring in Anna Darmus, who brings so much
04:48intensity, so much humour, so much goodwill.
04:50I mean, you always need the Gwen Verdon to our Bob Fosse, so I think she was the ultimate
04:55pick who brought a little bit of magic to hopefully a magical universe.
05:00And listen, I love the documentary Wick is Pain.
05:02I mean, it was no holds barred.
05:03You just told us everything, didn't you?
05:05Yeah, nothing like having your life out there for everybody to mock.
05:09But I mean, what does this franchise mean to you?
05:11Because I think watching the documentary, we realised just how much it had impacted your
05:14lives as well.
05:15Yeah, you got me all choked up, man.
05:19No, it changed us.
05:22Just like Keanu and I had gone through it twice, we got to share the Matrix journey together
05:26and then something that changes all our life.
05:29Hold on, give me a hug.
05:30You look fantastic.
05:31Thank you so much.
05:32It's so good to see you.
05:33Thanks for everything.
05:34Have you seen this yet?
05:35I have.
05:35You're very good.
05:37Well, thank you very much.
05:37You're pretty good.
05:38The boss says I'm all right.
05:39I'm all right.
05:40Yes, you're more than all right.
05:42It was a good call in the jury, wasn't it?
05:44It was awesome.
05:45I'm so sorry that you had to break it.
05:47Sorry, she's awesome.
05:48No, I feel bad.
05:49I've got a habit of making people cry.
05:51I do apologise.
05:52No, it's...
05:54We're all ready to work with Ian again, to work with Lance and his last thing.
05:58I mean, we've been a family for 11 years.
06:01I love it.
06:01And listen, obviously, we love Keanu.
06:04When it comes to stunts and stunt actors, we often see it very male-dominated.
06:08How exciting and refreshing is it to have Anna at the forefront of this?
06:12I think it's...
06:14I mean, we have a very weird perspective.
06:16It's neither male nor female, nor left, nor right.
06:19We just like interesting people playing interesting characters.
06:22So when we wanted to expand, we just wanted...
06:25Not extremely different, but we just wanted a whole fresh perspective.
06:29Somebody that was just coming into the world.
06:31Someone with maivety, but had humour and had that intensity that Keanu brings to it.
06:35And then I remember the first Zoom meeting I had with Anna.
06:38I mean, we were actually finishing up John Wick 4 at the time.
06:42And you see the intensity of her eyes, and you saw the softness, and you saw the intensity.
06:46And then the first day training, we're like, all right, we've got Gwen Verdon.
06:50We're good.
06:50Well, listen, Chad, I would really love to be in a John Wick movie.
06:54Have you heard of a Glasgow kiss?
06:57Why don't you see me?
06:58We're doing Highlander next.
06:59Have you heard of the move, a Glasgow kiss?
07:01Do you know what that is?
07:02Yeah, I do. And that's why I'm standing back here.
07:05Listen, I'm available, and I've done some stunt work.
07:07Have your people call my people.
07:09Oh, wow. Okay.
07:10It's so nice to see you. Sorry for making you cry.
07:11It's all good.
07:12Lovely to see you again. Stay warm.
07:14Thank you so much. Thank you.
07:32How are you? Nice to see you. How are you doing?
07:40I'm great. Nice to see you. I'm great.
07:41I've just spoken to Keanu. I spoke to Chad, Ellen. I keep making everybody cry.
07:46Why?
07:46So I'm going to do my best not to make you cry.
07:48Why did you make them cry?
07:50I know. A John Wick premiere? How can that even happen?
07:53What's wrong with you, making everybody cry?
07:55I'm Scottish. What can I say? People get emotional when they talk to me.
07:59Jesus. Did he cry? Really?
08:01I think they got a bit emotional, shall we say. I don't know if I tear felt.
08:04Should I do this just in case?
08:06Just in case.
08:06Tear up. You will never know if I cry or not.
08:10No, I've got a feeling you're not going to cry. But listen.
08:13I'm not going to cry.
08:14Yeah. How exciting is it to be in this universe and be extending the universe with this movie?
08:21It's great. I mean, to be an actor like me in a John Wick film, when I, you know, my day job, I roll around in the mud and I'm covered in blood and I'm stabbing and killing people.
08:33Like, it seems like a natural progression.
08:35You know what I mean? You take the poncho up, you put on a suit. It, you know, seems like moving on down the road. Yeah, it's fun.
08:44And I'm a big fan of the franchise. I've seen them all a million times, you know, like everybody else.
08:49Well, I'm not going to make you cry because I need to let you get on, but we survived with no tears, which is great.
08:54What did you say to them to make them cry?
08:56I just asked them how much does John Wick mean to them and then, you know.
09:00This is my first one, so you're not going to get a tear out of me.
09:02He's done like 30 of these things, so, you know, I understand.
09:07Give it a few movies down the line and then the tears will come.
09:10I'm just going to, I'm going to skip right by you.
09:13Well, that's a love.
09:14Lovely to see you. Thank you so much.
09:32Hey, Keanu, it's great to see you again. How are you doing?
09:39I'm good. How are you?
09:40I'm so excited to see you. Listen, I've been a fan of John Wick for so long. I absolutely love it.
09:46How exciting is it that we're getting to extend the universe with Ballerina?
09:49Yeah, it's fun. It was fun. It was, uh, everybody involved wanted to, like, protect what makes a John Wick film, but also explore, so it's been cool to open up new characters, tell more of the story, and, you know, have a wonderful actress like Anna really dedicate herself to playing her role and seeing her having fun.
10:16Listen, I loved the documentary, Wick is Pain. I mean, I saw it. I loved it. And do you know what? I love the fact that it shows just how hard you've all worked on this, how dedicated you've been. I mean, what is this franchise?
10:28Well, that's a gift. That's a gift. It's like, I mean, when you go to the market and there's, like, the bounty of nature there and you get to go and then cook a meal and then share that with friends and family and they like it, that's what I feel like Chad and I have been doing for the past decade.
10:46What does John Wick mean to you?
10:49Well, it's a role of a lifetime and, uh, the friendships and bonds that I've been a part of and making the films and create, being a part of creating them, um, have changed my life and been part of, you know, my experience.
11:15Yeah. Don't get emotional because I made Chad cry earlier as well, so.
11:20Yeah, I know. We're just some crybabies.
11:22It's so lovely to see you again. Thank you so much for everything you brought to us in cinema. I really appreciate it.
11:27Thank you, Keanu. Thanks.
11:29Thanks.
11:30Hi, Anna!
11:35Hi.
11:36I hope you're here.
11:38You look absolutely sensational, by the way.
11:43I am so excited for this. What I love to see is a woman at the forefront of these stunts and action movies. I mean, how does it feel for you? What does it mean to you to be doing that?
11:55It feels amazing. I think bringing a new, powerful female voice to the franchise and to this universe was, uh, really empowering and really cool and a great opportunity to me. I love the franchise. I love what Keanu and Chad have created and I, I wanted to be a part of this universe.
12:13And I wanted to, to show that, you know, us women kick ass and we can take this on. And it was really cool.
12:33You absolutely can. And listen, I know you've been friends with Keanu for a long time. What was it like getting to work with them in this franchise? Because I know you were a fan of John Wick as well, right?
12:42It's really amazing. It's, it's, it's almost, if I think about it too much, it's, it's emotional because I met Keanu 10, 11 years ago when I didn't even speak English.
12:51My, my breakup role in the U.S. was, was a knock knock with him. And now here we are at this world premiere with him and his, in my movie kind of like, you know, passing the torch and blessing this film and like being so supportive as he always is. And it's, it's crazy, you know?
13:09And just finally, did you come out unscathed or did you get any injuries on set?
13:14Uh, not injuries, lots of bruises, very painful everywhere, but everyone was safe at all times. We made it.
13:23We cannot wait for this. Thank you so much. Thank you. Thank you.
13:26Thank you. Thank you.
