Musician and actress King Princess opened up to The Hollywood Reporter all about stepping into the world of Hollywood for 'Nine Perfect Strangers,' as well as her forthcoming movie 'Song Sung Blue,' co-starring Hugh Jackman and Kate Hudson. The singer and songwriting also revealed how acting has influenced her songwriting and the best advice she's ever received (and from who). Plus, she even spoke about her love for the Marvel Cinematic Universe and revealed what character she'd love to play in it.

00:54There's a couple things I love about being on set.
00:56First thing is that they truly are building shit that looks real and it's just not real.

01:04Number two is just, I don't know, I think it's cute having a trailer.
01:08I think it's, I'm used to a tour bus, so it's not that different.
01:11Like it's a little tiny space that you can make into your like cocoon when you're not working.
01:20In my tour bus, in my trailer, I'm trying to think of what's PG to say.
01:26That to put in my, because my tour bus is a little bit more than my trailer.
01:30I guess in my trailer, my dog.
01:33My dog is an essential member of my team.
01:38I'm like, mommy's being creative today.
01:40Like I want, I want you to be there.
01:41So she's there with me and she's so, it's so wonderful.
01:46That and like, I definitely need the seaweed snacks.

01:58I will just watch and watch and then re-watch.

02:58And then as a lesbian, obviously, Cate Blanchett.
03:00Christine Baranski said to me, she was like, you know, I've been on a lot of sets.
03:10I've been in a lot of productions where I'm low on the call sheet and somewhere I'm number
03:16one on the call sheet.
03:17And she's like, and when I get a chance to be a leader, I lead by example.
03:24So she's first person on set, last person to leave.
03:27Just so kind and gracious and appreciative of what's going on.
03:32And like that to me, that type of behavior is the best lesson that anyone could have
03:37in this industry.
03:39Just the way that you interact with people, but also the hard work you put in.
03:44I think that's really special.
03:45And people can tell.

04:14So when you're writing music, I feel like it can get really, especially with me, it's

04:27But with acting, it's allowed me to find levity in my art because you are essentially
04:35a clown, which is amazing.
04:37I am so thrilled to be a court jester.
04:41So I've learned how to kind of not take myself as seriously and try stuff and be silly and
04:47be funny and see what works.
04:50And if something doesn't work, it's like it's not that big a deal.
04:52It's not that precious.
04:53You're just like, okay, next thing.

05:05I would love to be in Terrifier for as Arthur Clown's assistant.
05:09Because he always has kind of like a side chick character who like helps, you know, do all
05:16the murdering and dismembering.
05:18And I feel like I could really like sink in.
