Today we discuss all things food and food pricing. The cost of living crisis has seen a massive rise in the cost of food- but are locals concerned?

00:00I think we're back to that bigger question of how we value food in the first place.
00:04It's crazy that you can go into, what are we on White Lady's Road,
00:08you can go into any number of shops here and buy food from all over the world for less than a pound.
00:13It doesn't make any sense. We have no concept of the value of food now anyway.
00:18So it's a bit like, yeah, I mean, I'll buy whatever, to be honest.
00:23I think we tend to eat less meat and to save the money to buy better meat.
00:28And then it's nice to buy nicer food when you have the money.
00:32But if it comes down to it, sometimes you've got to choose the cheap stuff.
00:35Not really. I think there's a lot of, what do they call it, like price gouging.
00:38Like when like the they put the cost onto the consumer rather than like absorb a little bit of them themselves.
00:45So, yeah, not ideal.
00:47So I'm actually acutely aware of both the organisations that have been playing a huge role in supporting families in terms of food parcels.
