00:00One of the videos I get asked for the most is on how to recover space, especially by people who have a government-issued laptop or who have filled up their entire drive.
00:10Well, one solution is to buy another drive. If you have space, you have another slot to put in an SSD drive, or if it's a desktop PC, a mechanical drive or an SD.
00:20Another solution is to watch the video I've left on the labels, a video that millions of people have watched and that has helped a lot of people, where I explain step-by-step without tools.
00:32And another solution I'm going to give you today is with the tool we already know, PC Manager.
00:37In another video that I've left on the labels, I'll show you how to install it, but basically we'll go to the Microsoft Store, start Microsoft Store, search for PC Manager, click here, get it, and install it.
00:50But since I already have it, it tells me to open it, so I'm going to click open.
00:54Here it seems to me the blessed PC Manager, a very complete tool.
00:58In the video about labels, I show you step-by-step how to get the most out of it to optimize your computer.
01:04It's an official Microsoft tool that you have to have.
01:08In this video, we're going to go to the Storage tab, where we've already done a deep clean.
01:14Let's click on Examine.
01:16We'll wait for the entire process to finish and here it gives us many, many recommended items, in my case 4.9GB.
01:25A lot of it is taken up by the Chrome Cache and other system items.
01:28In my case, since I have a lot of space, I'm not going to delete it, but note that when you delete the Chrome Cache, some things that open automatically won't open.
01:40So, well, check if that's important to you, if not, I recommend deleting it.
01:45Here it tells us another system item, 137MB.
01:48Take a good look before deleting anything.
01:50The same goes for another application item, Computer Usage Tracking and Recycle Bin.
01:56Obviously, to delete everything in the Recycle Bin, you have to know what's in the Recycle Bin.
02:02Check that before deleting anything.
02:05Okay, let's go back to storage.
02:07Another issue is downloaded files.
02:09Don't you often download a photo, a video, or whatever, and your folder ends up being a crazy amount of stuff?
02:19Well, in my case, I have more than 20GB downloaded.
02:23Here, as you can see, what we can do is view all the files we have, select one, permanently delete it, or select several, permanently delete them, or divide them into documents, images, compressed folders, videos, and we'll see there.
02:38We want to delete all the videos.
02:40We simply select videos and go ahead and delete all the videos.
02:43Audio, same with everything, right?
02:45Now it also gives us the option for large files.
02:47Since I have several drives, C, D, and L, it gives me all the options to search.
02:51I'm going to select here and search for everything.
02:54This detected large files on drive C there you'll have to search one by one to see if they're important to you or not.
03:00What I recommend is to grab it and say what's big for you, more than 10MB or more than 1GB.
03:05For me, it's more than 1GB.
03:07Okay, this is on the C drive, which is the system drive.
03:09I'm not putting anything there.
03:11I'm going to put it on dredetectd as you can see.
03:14Since I put a lot of things from the channel on this drive, there are a lot of large files and it's totally necessary.
03:21If we open it completely here, the file path appears so we can go there.
03:26And if we come here, we can go to the folder directly.
03:29And as you can see, that file is here.
03:31It's an old file.
03:33I should delete it directly.
03:34So I'm going to tell it to permanently delete.
03:37And I can do the same with everything, but we have to check first.
03:41If we go to duplicate files, this is important because if it's duplicated, it means we don't need it twice.
03:48Oh, this process is taking a while because I have large drives, so in the meantime, what I recommend is that you subscribe.
03:56Okay, it's over here and I'm realizing that there are many, many duplicate files.
04:01We have 40 gigabytes on the d drive.
04:04And what I recommend before deleting is to open the folder.
04:08In this folder, check this MBI 4113 file.
04:11Open the other folder and as you can see, they are exactly the same, not only in size, but also what they have inside.
04:19You can open it and verify and check the content too.
04:22Exactly.
04:27There, younger techno human.
04:30In this case, what I would do after checking, I close the folder, I do this, I select the three, permanently delete.
04:37Yes, permanently delete, I would do that with everything, if you don't want to do it, delete everything at once and that's it, but you run the risk of deleting something important.
04:48What I would do is check each thing, take the time to recover space.
04:53In this case, then I recovered the 227 megabytes by 3 because that same file was in 3 different places, but I have much more to recover.
05:03Look, 39.4 gigabytes.
05:05And finally, within this application, it gives us an option that takes us directly to the storage sensor.
05:13What this does is, if enabled, it runs when there is little disk space left, it cleans up enough space to help the system run actively.
05:23If you didn't know, the disk must always work with at least 10% available in order to move smoothly, otherwise it will start to fail.
05:31So never fill the disk with information, keep that in mind, especially if you have a SCD.
05:38And that's it for this video, my friends.
05:42I'm going to be commenting on how much you recovered.
05:45See you in the next video, I'm Gonzalo R. Archon, this is the ceiling hand, bye!
