Top 5 Fastest Missiles in the World |
Transcript
00:00In this video, we have discussed top 5 fastest missiles in the world, based on the latest available data.
00:06These missiles are not just fast, they are incredibly powerful and packed with advanced technology.
00:12Starting off at number 5 is the RS-28 Sarmat, also known as Satan-2.
00:19This Russian intercontinental ballistic missile is still under development, but already gaining attention.
00:24It's a massive missile, over 35 meters long, and weighing more than 200 tons.
00:31Designed to replace the older SS-18, the Sarmat can carry up to 10 tons of payload, including multiple warheads or even hypersonic glide vehicles.
00:41Its range is up to 18,000 kilometers, making it one of the longest range missiles in the world.
00:47At number 4 is the Minuteman-3, a key part of the United States nuclear defense since the 1970s.
00:54Built by Boeing, this land-based ICBM is housed in underground silos and ready for rapid launch.
01:02It's around 18 meters tall, weighs over 34 tons, and reaches hypersonic speeds of Mach 23.
01:09Though it originally carried multiple warheads, it now carries one, due to arms control agreements.
01:16Still, it's a highly reliable and fast missile.
01:19Taking third place is the UGM-133 Triton-2D5, also known simply as Triton-2.
01:26This submarine-launched missile is used by both the U.S. and U.K.
01:31It's 13.4 meters long, weighed as nearly 59 tons, and has a range of up to 12,000 kilometers.
01:38It carries up to 8 MIRVs, multiple independently targetable warheads, and is known for its accuracy, with a circular error probable of just 90 meters.
01:48That's incredibly precise for missile traveling at hypersonic speeds.
01:52Coming in at number 2 is the DF-41 from China, one of the world's most powerful road-mobile ICBMs.
01:59With a range of up to 15,000 kilometers, this three-stage, solid-fuel missile can be launched from roads, railways, or silos.
02:08It's capable of carrying up to 10 nuclear warheads, each targeting a different location.
02:13With a 2,500 kilograms payload and high accuracy, the DF-41 is a major part of China's strategic deterrent.
02:22And finally, at number 1, meet the Avangard, Russia's hypersonic glide vehicle.
02:27It's unlike any traditional missile.
02:30Launched by a ballistic missile, Avangard attaches and glides through the atmosphere at Mach 20.
02:35That's about 6.8 kilometers per second, with a range of over 6,000 kilometers and the ability to carry a nuclear warhead of up to 2 megatons.
02:44It's designed to outmaneuver missile defenses with unpredictable flight paths.
02:49Russia considers it a key part of its future defense strategy.
02:52So there you have it, the top five fastest missiles in the world.
02:56Each of these weapons represents the cutting edge of missile technology and global defense power.
