00:00Fantastic vessel, just adding so much capability to Marine Rescue NSW, importantly in a really
00:06safe manner.
00:07This state-of-the-art design is purpose-built for Marine Rescue and for the work that we
00:11do.
00:12It's a state asset, so that means it could end up at any unit across the state at any
00:18time.
00:19Exactly right.
00:20We're trying to build our vessels that can be spread amongst the units, moved around.
00:25The capability and the technology remains similar, so that volunteers can get from vessel
00:30to vessel, understand it, operate it safely, and ultimately help the boating community of
00:35NSW.
00:36Now you've taken part in a fairly extensive induction on this vessel.
00:43The handling and the capability, have you ever been on a boat quite like this?
00:47No, as soon as you step on the vessel, you can feel the quality in the build, the smoothness
00:52of the ride, the technology that enables our volunteers to be able to see what's in front
00:59of them, navigate safely, communicate well.
01:02The vision from the helm is fantastic, so it's just an all-round, very, very capable vessel.
01:08The vessel will be on hand for our international women in Saar, where there will be 16 female
01:12participants from around the globe that are going to come here, experience Marine Rescue
01:16NSW, experience Sydney Harbour.
01:18And to be able to do it on a vessel of this capability, not only showcases our organisation,
01:23but it will showcase the great design teams that we have in Australia for the maritime
01:27industry.
01:28I love it, it's been so good on the water.
01:32We've put in systems to really make the ride smoother, having the space in the vessel to
01:37walk around, internally having the big windows, comfort seating, been going great so far.
01:44We took it offshore a few times now, we've had some fairly significant seas to deal with.
01:49It's a dry boat, you feel solid and secure inside it, and easy to work on.
01:54So we've got our full suite of Raymarine equipment, we've got their flare cameras for our infrared
01:59and thermal searchers.
02:02We've got dip sounders, sonar, all the stuff that you'd expect off a regular rescue vessel.
02:08And we've tried to make it that way so that crew have got familiarity across boat to boat,
02:12so they can get onto this boat, everything is familiar.
02:15They know how to work it, they know how to operate it, they know the parameters of the
02:18systems, so it's easy that way.
02:20The only thing that's the extra to learn is how the boat handles and manoeuvres.
02:24Where do you think theeder boat handles and womanoeuvres.
02:33We've got to do this, and we've got to do this, and I've got to do this.
02:37It's a very good start.
02:42This is a very challenging recap.
