00:00So, Chris, let me ask you, should Ukraine accept territorial concessions if it leads to peace?

00:07I think there are two issues here.

00:08One is what we call de jure recognition of territory, which is internationally legally recognised.

00:15And the second is de facto recognition of territory, which is obviously a pragmatic situation on the ground.

00:20And I think I have a big problem with the first because, of course,

00:23the precedent it sets for the international community and international relations is very serious.

00:27But I would see potentially a situation where de facto Russian occupation of certain parts of Ukraine was accepted.

00:36And I think actually, in reality, the Ukrainian government is also been talking in those terms

00:42with a view to longer term trying to get some kind of settlement over sovereignty of those parts of the country,

00:49which are currently occupied by Russia.

00:51So I think Ukraine probably may be under pressure, but nevertheless is prepared to make some territorial concessions,

00:59but not de jure ones, not internationally legal ones at this point,

01:02until such a time as relations between the two countries are stabilised,

01:07which may take quite some years, I think, to achieve.

01:10For example, I think that if I have no possibility to be an international point,

01:13that we have a proteger, I think, to a place where it is in the national point.

01:15So maybe I would want to make some forme that can be made in the national point,

01:17but it will be a book that will be a book that the people who are going to pass this forward,

01:18for example.

01:19And I think, if I can even talk about it,

01:20I think it's a good story,

01:21but it's a good story that it's been writing here,

01:24for example,

01:25and I think it's just a good thing for you to try to do this.
