00:00Tim McGraw, back to Keep Us Company this week. How are you?
00:03I'm well. How are you?
00:04I'm doing well also. Last time I saw you, last summer we were in Chicago for the tour,
00:08and you were gearing up for some big surgeries, which I know have now happened.
00:12How are you feeling? How did it go?
00:14Coming along, it's taking time.
00:17Gosh, over the last two years, I've had four major surgeries.
00:22Oh my God.
00:22Yeah, so it's been a rough go.
00:24But, you know, I beat myself up over the years pretty badly.
00:27So I'm starting to come around.
00:30It's just going to take a little time, but I've done a lot of PT.
00:33Getting to where I can move a little better, there's setbacks.
00:36You know, you go a couple of weeks, everything's really good.
00:38Then you have a couple of weeks, everything goes backwards again.
00:40And so it's sort of a back and forth thing.
00:42But at least I'm up and going and moving.
00:45The worst part for me is I'm terrible at sitting still.
00:49And so the first surgery I had, well, I had two back surgeries before the tour last year.
00:55And then during the tour, the back started going cattywampus on me.
01:00And in about three weeks in the tour, my knees went out.
01:02So I had to do the whole tour with my knees shot, my back shot.
01:05So right after, I had double knee replacements.
01:07So both knees.
01:09And that was the worst, having to lay there for six, eight weeks and not do much.
01:13Because you are very, very active.
01:15And like your workouts are like world famous.
01:18But I can only imagine like physically so difficult, but also like mentally being stuck doing,
01:22like that's really hard.
01:23That was the worst part is mentally.
01:24I mean, I was warned about it by my doctors that, you know, there's everybody that gets
01:29these things, there's a depression that happens.
01:31For sure.
01:31And for me, I was saying, I'm not going to get depressed.
01:34It's football season.
01:35I'm going to have my knees replaced and watch football.
01:37But, you know, three weeks into it, I was tired of it.
01:39I bet.
01:40I bet Faith was tired of it also.
01:41Well, Faith was definitely tired of it.
01:43She's still tired of it.
01:44Yeah.
01:44But, you know, she's had a lot of neck problems.
01:46She's had a lot of neck surgeries over the last couple of years, too.
01:49Neck stuff is the worst, too.
01:51Like just so painful, so awful.
01:54Well, I'm glad to see you up and around and feeling better.
01:57You got so many exciting things coming up.
01:58We're going to bring the Cowboys in a minute and talk about rodeo.
02:01But first, I want to talk about, you've got this really cool thing that you are doing.
02:03It's the MLB Speedway Classic in August.
02:06Is this just like a baseball game on a racetrack?
02:09It's a baseball game on a racetrack and then the concert.
02:11And, gosh, there's going to be 70,000 to 80,000 people at that thing.
02:15It's a really cool deal.
02:17I'm going to do a lot of cool, like very inaugural sort of events that haven't been done before.
02:22Later on in the summer, I think it's August 30th, which is my dad's birthday, we're playing
02:26the Field of Dreams.
02:28And the first concert they've ever had there.
02:30That is so cool.
02:31And it's so cool.
02:32It happened to be on my dad's birthday.
02:33I was going to say, how did that all come together?
02:35Was it just like very serendipitous that it ends up on your dad's birthday?
02:37It was just serendipity, for sure.
02:39It was just kismet, I guess.
02:41And so I make the joke that I'm going to be up there singing, just hoping Tug's going
02:45to walk out of the cornfield and throw me a ball.
02:48Isn't that, that's just such a cool, like Field of Dreams is just an iconic movie.
02:52And what a really cool thing to do.
02:53Yeah, it's really cool.
02:54And it's very personal for me.
02:55So I'm excited they asked me to do the first one there.
02:59Yeah, I may have to rent a car and drive out there.
03:00I know Dwyersville, Iowa is a little bit difficult to get to, but also, yeah, definitely worth it.
03:06Yes, exactly.
03:06You also recently just re-released a new version of your song, Paper Umbrellas.
03:11I've been singing that all morning.
03:12And you've got Parker McCollum on this re-released version.
03:14Talk about how that came together.
03:15Yeah, you know, that song was on my Standard Room Only album.
03:18And when we were getting ready to pick a new single, I wanted to bring something off of
03:21that album.
03:22And there were a couple of choices we had, but I always loved that record.
03:25It was one of my favorite records on the album.
03:27And I wanted to freshen it up a little bit because it had been out for a while on the album.
03:31And I was looking around at somebody new to put on the record.
03:34And Parker was the first guy I thought of because I liked his music and the direction
03:39that he goes and the way his voice sounds.
03:41And it seemed like his voice would fit perfectly on this type of song.
03:44And, you know, the biggest thing is when you ask somebody to sing on a song, you send
03:47it to them.
03:47You just hope they like it and they hope they don't say no.
03:50And luckily, he liked the song.
03:52And you could have said Parker McCollum, Wheels on the Bus, and he would have been so excited
03:55to get it from Timbera.
03:56I hope so.
03:57I hope so.
03:58But he did a great job on it.
03:59And so we decided that, yeah, this is going to be the single.
04:01And so it's off and running.
04:02Yeah.
04:02And I love that you did that because I feel like there's so many times you see an artist
04:06and there's like, they jump to the next album and it doesn't really get the time it deserves.
04:11And I feel like there's always so many songs that I'm like, that's never going to see
04:13the light of day.
04:14And it makes you sad.
04:15It does.
04:16I feel that way about every album I've done.
04:17There's like four or five songs that's like, gosh, I wish that would have gotten out.
04:20And I've often had the idea is, why don't we go back and just pick singles off old albums?
04:25Why not?
04:26I don't see why we don't do that kind of thing.
04:27What would be the song that you like, would be the first one that you would say to do that
04:30with?
04:31Oh, my gosh.
04:32There's a song.
04:34I don't remember what album was on, but a song called Still on the Line.
04:37That is one of my favorite songs I've ever recorded.
04:40And I always wished it would have been a single.
04:42I feel like if anybody wants to do that to him and can get away with it, you definitely can.
04:45I don't know.
04:46We'll see.
04:46You know, I get talked out of a lot of stuff.
04:48I'm sure.
04:49I'm sure.
04:49I'm sure.
04:50You also, you recently just celebrated your 49th number one song, which is so exciting.
04:54And I know that, like, you know, picking a new single, like, that could potentially be
04:57a number 50.
04:57Also, like, a really exciting big deal.
04:59It's exciting.
05:00You know, you don't think about it as much, you know, as you used to when you were younger,
05:05but it never gets old.
05:06It never gets old to have a number one single.
05:08Well, and to hit a milestone like that.
05:10Yeah, and to hit a milestone like that.
05:10Really special.
05:12You know, I've been doing it a long time.
05:14And, you know, you never get into it for that to start with.
05:18But, you know, you're competitive.
05:19And as you get going and they start, they start racking up, you start getting excited
05:22about it.
05:23Definitely.
05:24Speaking of milestones, we are getting ready to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the ACMs.
05:28And they've been sending over all these really fun old pieces of audio.
05:32And I found this one.
05:33I want to play this for you.
05:34It's not you.
05:34It's Faith in 93 when she won Top Female Artist.
05:38And I just thought this was so cute.
05:41I'm very nervous, as you can tell.
05:43This has been an awesome year for me.
05:45And first of all, I'd like to thank my family back home.
05:47They're probably screaming so loud they can't hear what I'm saying right now.
05:50But I love you very much, Mom and Dad.
05:53And thank you for letting me follow my dreams.
05:55And thanks to the Academy and thanks to all of you out there for making me feel so welcome.
05:59Isn't that so, I just, she sounds so young.
06:03I know, gosh.
06:04You're getting me off her clipped here.
06:05Were you in the room when that happened?
06:07Because that would have been like right before y'all started dating, right?
06:1093.
06:10Yeah, it was before we started dating.
06:1193, I think, was the first year I went to the ACMs.
06:14Yeah.
06:15So I don't particularly remember that because it was such a.
06:18It was a big deal.
06:18Yeah, it was your first time too.
06:20Yeah, first time there.
06:21But I remember the very first time I saw a picture of Faith, I fell in love instantly.
06:26Where'd you see a picture of her?
06:26I think she was on Billboard Magazine or something.
06:28And I was walking through my management office and I'd had like one or two singles out off
06:32of my first album that hadn't really done much.
06:34And I was in the process of recording my second album and I walked by and saw the photo of her
06:38and I'm like, oh my God.
06:40Who's that girl?
06:41I need to find that girl.
06:42How's Faith doing?
06:43She's doing great.
06:44She's doing really well.
06:46We got two new puppies at home, so we're pretty busy right now.
06:49What?
06:49You got two?
06:49What'd you get?
06:50We got Aussie Mountain Doodles.
06:52Oh my gosh.
06:53So they're cute as I can be, but they're a handful.
06:55I would say, are they full size or are they like?
06:57Medium.
06:57Well, they're supposed to be 45, 35, 40 pounds.
07:01But the male, we got two, a brother and sister, but the doc said the male's going to blow way
07:06past that.
07:07He's a chunk.
07:08Oh my gosh.
07:09So anyway, she's busy handling them while I'm out doing some work.
07:12Does she have puppy blues yet?
07:15Yeah.
07:15I mean, they're a pain, but they're so damn cute.
07:19Well, that's the thing.
07:21I'm on the list to get a puppy this summer that I've always wanted a golden retriever.
07:24And to me, that is the cutest puppy in the whole world.
07:26My friends are like, at some point, you're going to call us crying and be like, why did
07:30I do this?
07:30Yeah.
07:31But thank God they're cute.
07:33Thank God they're cute.
07:34That's the only thing that saves them.
07:35Yeah.
07:35Well, that's so great.
07:36I'm glad to hear that she's doing well.
07:38I feel like I always, when I think about, you know, like all the people that are putting
07:41out music right now, do you think Faith will ever hop back in the studio?
07:44Is that like, I don't know.
07:46I mean, I'm sure she will at some point.
07:48I mean, right now she's just, you know, focusing on, you know, the kids and, you know, gosh,
07:53Gracie's Broadway career has taken off.
07:55I was going to say, I saw you guys were just at Carnegie Hall.
07:58Yeah, she performed at Carnegie Hall.
07:59Oh my God.
08:00It was pretty cool.
08:01And she did a TV special that they filmed for PBS.
08:03It'll be out on Veterans Day.
08:04So you can catch it on PBS and Veterans Day.
08:07And then Maggie's doing great in her job.
08:09She's, she's working her tail off.
08:11And Audrey just recorded her first album.
08:13I was going to ask you about that.
08:13I saw she was posting about it.
08:15And also like, there was this beautiful video she had posted.
08:17And I think she was singing something in Spanish.
08:19Oh yeah.
08:20La Cucurru or something like that.
08:21Oh my God.
08:22It was beautiful.
08:23Yeah.
08:23She's, she's, they're all just great girls.
08:25How fun is it?
08:26They work hard too.
08:27I was going to say, how fun is it?
08:28Like, you know, there's so many times I feel like people who are artists are like, I don't
08:32really know that I want my kid like dabbling in the music industry.
08:34Just knowing how tough it is.
08:35But they are both like, just, they're all so talented.
08:37You have to be so proud.
08:38Very proud.
08:39I'm more, more proud of them certainly than anything that I've ever done.
08:42That's, that's my biggest joy is to see them succeed.
08:45For sure.
08:45What kind of album is Audrey doing?
08:48It's a, she's pretty eclectic in her musical taste.
08:51She listens to everything and it's, she's got cutting her own path.
08:54I don't think you can put it in any sort of genre.
08:57I love to hear that.
08:58That's so fun.
08:59And then you obviously have this like huge show on 1883.
09:02Did you keep up with 1923?
09:04Yeah, I loved it.
09:05Did you watch the finale?
09:05Watched the finale.
09:06Was that not the greatest two hours of television?
09:08It was fantastic.
09:09Faith and I kept saying, our son showed up and saved the day.
09:14Right?
09:15I just, I couldn't get over that.
09:16And I know you obviously like spent so much time working with Taylor Sheridan, but I was
09:19like, that is some of the best television I've ever seen.
09:22He's writing some great stuff.
09:23I mean, Landman, Tulsa Kings, all that stuff.
09:26It's just really good stuff.
09:27When we had a blast doing 1883, it was hard work.
09:30I mean, it was almost six months of shooting, you know, six days a week.
09:33Yeah.
09:33And we talked about like hot days, long days.
09:36Hot, cold, everything.
09:37There were no easy days, that's for sure.
09:39I know that you usually have something like lined up or like that you're looking at acting
09:43wise.
09:43Is there anything?
09:44There's a few things that works.
09:45There were one thing that was in particular that was set to go that when I had my injuries,
09:50I had to back out of, but it might pop up.
09:52Well, I remember saying to you, I was like, don't you have a bull riding thing?
09:54I was like, is Faith going to let you do that?
09:56You're like, well, I don't know.
09:58But that'll probably come back around.
10:00We'll just have to see how I heal up.
10:02Well, we hope so.
10:03Again, we're glad that you're just feeling better.
10:05And then we're also, we're going to have you on the show going into Memorial Day weekend.
10:08And I want to play your song if you're reading this.
10:11Can you talk about the day that you wrote that with the Warren brothers and kind of like,
10:15where the inspiration for this came from?
10:17Yeah, I was on an airplane.
10:18Actually, Faith and I were flying down to Mississippi to visit our parents.
10:22And there was a Time Magazine article.
10:25And it was talking about the letters that soldiers write and keep on them when they go out, just
10:31in case they don't make it back.
10:32Letters to send home.
10:33And I was reading some of the letters.
10:35And they all started out, if you're reading this, it means something bad happened.
10:40And I'm going to get worse.
10:41Yeah, you can't not.
10:43And so I had the idea for the song.
10:45And I called the Warren brothers over.
10:47And we spent an afternoon at the house writing a song.
10:50And we finished it.
10:52Faith and I were both working really hard at that time.
10:55And so our nanny was there that was helping with the kids.
10:58And we weren't sure how good the song was.
11:00And so we asked her to come in and listen to it.
11:02And then she just broke down and started crying.
11:03And we thought, all right, we got something cool.
11:05And then it was maybe three weeks after that, we were doing the ACM awards.
11:11And I was supposed to be doing my single.
11:14But I decided I wanted to do that song.
11:16And nobody had ever heard it before.
11:18And so when we rehearsed it, we didn't sing it.
11:21We just sort of rehearsed it and hummed.
11:23So nobody would hear the lyrics.
11:24So nobody had ever heard it until we did it live that night.
11:27And then basically, I think, what was it?
11:29People started taking the recorded version from the ACM and put it on the radio next day.
11:32That was the radio version.
11:33Yeah, that was the radio version.
11:34That was the version that he used.
11:35And it was just such a special song to us.
11:39And it's still hard to get, whenever I perform, it's hard to get through it.
11:43Yeah, because I'm sure you're locking eyes with anybody in the audience who's lived through that.
11:47Absolutely.
11:47And my family has a lot of military service in it.
11:51So it meant a lot to me.
11:52Yeah, it's such a beautiful song.
11:54We're obviously so excited for the summer coming.
11:55Like we said, you've got a lot of great things.
11:56Because you have faith.
11:57I know that you guys always do a lot of road trips.
11:58Do you have any fun stuff coming up that you're excited about?
12:01Well, we're going to be out of town a little bit because our youngest daughter, Audrey,
12:05is doing some stuff that I can't really talk about.
12:07Okay, yeah, no, no.
12:08Don't give it away, Dad.
12:09You're not going to get us in trouble.
12:09So we're going to be out of town watching her.
12:11And then Gracie's got some things coming up.
12:12Maggie's got some things coming up.
12:13So we'll be traveling around seeing them.
12:14And then I've got some work in the fall and summer, too.
12:17Yeah.
12:18Well, we're so excited to see you.
12:19I love this new song.
12:20I'm so excited for Rodeo.
12:21We're going to bring the Cowboys in and talk about that.
12:26All Things Country and Western, Nashville will play host to its very own rodeo and not
12:30just any rodeo.
12:31The biggest PRCA rodeo east of the Mississippi.
12:34And bringing the Music City Rodeo to town is co-founder Pat Humes, who joined us in studio
12:38along with Grammy Award winning Tim McGraw.
12:41Also joining us, Tim O'Connell, world champion in 2016, 17, and 2018.
12:46Bareback riding Cole Reiner.
12:48And Pro Rodeo Hall of Fame inductee Cody Custer.
12:51Gentlemen, welcome.
12:52Thank you so much for being here.
12:53Thanks for having us.
12:54So my first question, Tim, is for you.
12:57You are co-founder with us along with Pat.
12:58You are also the official marshal of the Music City Rodeo.
13:02Talk about why Nashville for a rodeo this size.
13:05Why not?
13:06It's the biggest question because why hasn't it been here before?
13:09That was our thought.
13:12You know, country music and rodeo have such a symbiotic relationship.
13:17I mean, we, for 80 years, country musicians have been playing rodeos.
13:20I've played over 30 in my career.
13:22I've played the Houston Rodeo 10 times.
13:23So it's just, we're sort of cousins in a lot of ways and sort of share the same cultures
13:28and the same ideals.
13:30And it just seemed like a perfect fit.
13:32I mean, we always go and play rodeos.
13:34Why isn't a rodeo here where we can play at it?
13:36And then Pat came to us with the idea.
13:39And I'll let him take it from there and see how it developed.
13:42Yeah, Pat.
13:43Talk about this.
13:43Yeah.
13:44We moved here three and a half years ago.
13:45And I come from a rodeo family, grew up out West.
13:48And my daughter's a huge rodeo fan.
13:51And I've been taking her to rodeos since she was three years old.
13:54And so we moved out here and there was no big rodeos.
13:58And she was looking around going, Daddy, there's no big rodeos.
14:00What are we going to do?
14:01And I was like, well, they're just not out here yet, honey.
14:03And she was like, Dad, you got to start one.
14:05You got to do it.
14:06So that's really what started the ball rolling.
14:09And we started looking into that three and a half years ago.
14:11And then we talked with Tim and he really helped us turn the corner, bringing it to Nashville.
14:16Yeah.
14:16Talk about how you two met and bringing, like working with Tim on this.
14:19You know, it's funny.
14:20Interestingly, my daughter rides at a barn in Franklin.
14:23And there was a family there that was helping us start looking at the rodeo.
14:27And she's like, hey, I know some people in the music industry.
14:30And I was like, listen, we need somebody who can help us out.
14:34And so I'd really like to reach out to Tim McGraw.
14:36And if you know anything that could do, she knew Brian Kaplan, who works with Tim.
14:40And she reached out to him and Brian heard two words of it.
14:43And he says, stop, don't talk to anybody else.
14:46Yeah, absolutely.
14:46And we were all on board.
14:48I mean, it was, you know, I grew up being a huge rodeo fan, wrote high school rodeo,
14:53which when I say that, it's a caveat, because what I did is like Little League baseball compared to these guys.
14:58I didn't know what the hell I was doing.
14:59But it was just always been a part of my life.
15:01And I always loved going to them and always appreciated the experience of it.
15:07And I just, it was a no-brainer for me.
15:10It has to be like one of those things you're like, that's such a good idea.
15:12Of course, somebody's done it before.
15:13And you have to feel like so lucky.
15:15You're like, wait, no one has done it before.
15:16Yeah, we were shocked.
15:17I mean, when we really started looking into it and found that the PRCA never really had a presence out of here,
15:22they had Cinch Toughest Rodeos that they did a few times, which is just a rough stock,
15:26which is kind of like half the rodeo card that they did out here.
15:30There were none of the timed events.
15:31And it just didn't have a presence out here.
15:33And with Nashville being the hub for country music, it just needed to have Western in with it.
15:39And I mean, rodeo, I always tell everybody, it's like glove in hand.
15:41It should have been done.
15:42And now we're doing it.
15:43So we're super excited.
15:45It's going to be incredible.
15:45So Reba is playing night one, Jelly Roll night two.
15:48Tim's going to close this out on night three.
15:50Talk about bringing in Jelly and Reba for this.
15:53Well, I mean, for us, it's no way to have a rodeo without Reba McIntyre at it.
15:58I mean, you know, Reba's got a long history in rodeo.
16:01Her dad was a three-time world champion.
16:02So it was just perfect.
16:05And when we approached Reba and Jelly Roll, they jumped right on board and it's all full on in, ready to promote.
16:10They were very excited about it.
16:12And to me, it was just, I love Reba.
16:16Not only her music, I love Reba personally.
16:18She's just one of the greatest gals in the world.
16:20So to have her on board was a big deal for me and I'm sure for everybody else.
16:25Yeah.
16:25And of course, Jelly Roll.
16:26Yes, Jelly is just the best.
16:28He's the best.
16:29It's a very fun lineup.
16:30I'm going to let the Cowboys talk here a little bit about some of the events that are going to be happening at the rodeo.
16:35Who wants to take us away on what's going to be there?
16:37Well, I'm the guy that's not competing anymore.
16:41I'm just kind of a, whatever you want to call me, I'm here to be a part of it.
16:45And, you know, you get us guys at rodeo, people like Pat with a vision and somebody like Tim with his notoriety coming on board.
16:55It's going to make it a great event for everybody involved.
16:59And we've got the list of competitors and probably the top 30 in each event are entered here.
17:06So we have all the disciplines of the rodeo.
17:09It's not just a partial rodeo.
17:12It's a full rodeo.
17:13And this will be the first time in Nashville.
17:16The PBR has had a presence here.
17:18It's been really successful.
17:19So I look for this to be really, really a great event.
17:23And Cole and Tim, are both of you competing?
17:26Cole is going to be the only one competing.
17:28Cole is.
17:28Okay.
17:28I don't know how this works.
17:30I'm coming from like square one asking silly questions.
17:33No, it's, it's, I would have, I would have been competing here.
17:36I actually had a surgery done about six weeks ago.
17:39I won't be cleared in time for the rodeo.
17:41So next time, next time.
17:42But Cole, Cole will be competing.
17:44He'll be up Saturday night, which is, which is Tim's day.
17:47I mean, that's, that's the day.
17:49I think it's going to be, I mean, it's going to be awesome all three days, but I mean, it's
17:52going to be electrifying regardless.
17:54Talk about what you guys are most excited about with this.
17:56Just like being here in Nashville.
17:58Well, rumor has it that it's Tim's day and Cole's night, but I wasn't, I was just going
18:02to clear that.
18:05Well, that's, that's the hope, right?
18:06Yeah, absolutely.
18:07No, it is going to be, you know, Saturday night's going to be the kind of the whole,
18:13the whole show put together.
18:14And, you know, the last night, all the fireworks, everything in one night, but, but throughout
18:19the whole week, and it's, it's, you know, we talked about the world's toughest rodeo and
18:22the PBR coming in, and those are days, maybe two days at a time.
18:25This is a whole weekend, even a whole week of, you know, celebrating rodeo culture, country
18:30music, and, and kind of what, uh, the spirit of the West embodies and, and, and then in
18:35music city, no better place.
18:37So we're super excited about that.
18:39I know a lot of the competitors are going to be out here walking the streets of Nashville
18:42for the week.
18:43So, um, you're going to see more cowboy hats than there already are here, which this, this
18:47city is pretty amazing.
18:48I was talking earlier to the guys when we were, when we were waiting outside that this is maybe
18:53one of the first cities, for sure, the first major city that I've been to and done promotion
18:57work for, where most of the hosts, if not all the hosts, know something about rodeo or,
19:02or are connected in some way.
19:04I, I'm from a small town in Wyoming, and I can promise you that the local newspaper guy
19:08that interviews me doesn't know a thing about rodeo compared to, you know, radio and national,
19:13uh, hosts.
19:14So this city is so connected to rodeo and country music and, and the Western lifestyle.
19:18And, and this is just going to embody all of that.
19:21Absolutely.
19:21And we were just laughing before this, talking about you're saying there's going to be a
19:24lot of cowboys in town.
19:25We're like, if there's a single lady who would like to come to town and meet a cowboy, this
19:28would be the weekend to do it.
19:29This is the weekend to come.
19:30This is a good, this is a good bachelorette party weekend.
19:33Yes, it is.
19:34Probably the best one that you could come for.
19:36And then I do want to talk about like some of the specific events, just like for anybody
19:39who hasn't been to a rodeo.
19:40So there's me, bareback riding, steer wrestling, team roping, saddle bronc riding.
19:44Tell me if I'm saying any of these wrong.
19:45Tie down roping, barrel racing, bull riding.
19:47And then my favorite mutton busting.
19:49Yeah.
19:50That's my speed.
19:51You nailed it.
19:51I saw that on there and I was like, yes.
19:54It's a crowd favorite.
19:55I mean, it's the crowd gets the single loudest for the mutton busting.
19:58How could you not?
19:59Those little kids on there.
20:00I saw Cody Johnson's daughter did it at the Houston rodeo.
20:03And I was like, this is the craziest thing I've ever seen.
20:06Well, that's the great thing about it is, you know, we have a lottery at night when
20:09you come to the rodeo.
20:10And if you've got a child that's around five or six years old, it's 50 pounds, 55 pounds or
20:15lighter.
20:16You can sign them up and it's a lottery and we pick them from the crowd to ride the
20:19sheep.
20:20And it is just one of the wildest, funniest things.
20:22Now, is that the age?
20:23Is there an age limit?
20:25No, it's just about that age.
20:27You know, you get some of the four, you get them at four year old, they get a little timid
20:30and stuff.
20:31But five, six year old, they got enough coordination.
20:33They have a fair shot of getting it.
20:34Don't get too scared.
20:35Yeah, exactly.
20:36It sounds like what I'm most excited about this is like with it being a brand new rodeo here
20:39in Nashville is it sounds like there's something for everyone.
20:41Whether it's your first time coming to rodeo or you've been a bunch of times, this is going
20:45to be a very legitimate operation and it's going to be a lot of fun.
20:49Yeah, it's a big deal.
20:49I mean, this isn't just like a one night you come in and do a rodeo.
20:53This is a whole weekend, three nights.
20:55It's more of a festival atmosphere.
20:57And it started out with a bang.
20:59I mean, it's going gangbusters right off the bat.
21:01And we're digging our spurs in.
21:02We're going to be here for a long time.
21:04We hope this grows and grows and grows and grows every year.
21:06Digging our spurs in.
21:07I like that a lot.
21:08Is there anything else that we should know about the Music City Rodeo that we haven't
21:11covered?
21:12I'd have to say part of our goal here is to give back to the community.
21:17We went to the Children's Hospital Monday and just really blessed our hearts.
21:21And we do some stuff with Folds of Honor.
21:25And so we're excited to be here.
21:28I guess the stigma of rodeo is come and take, but we're givers.
21:32We're coming back here.
21:33We want this community to benefit from us being here.
21:37Absolutely.
21:37Well, we're so happy to have you here.
21:39I can't wait to see Music City Rodeo coming right here.
21:41It's going to be a big deal.
21:42Come on.
21:43It's going to be so much fun.
21:43Thank you all so much for coming in.
21:44We really appreciate it.
21:45I'm so excited for this.
21:47We appreciate it.
