Your first look inside the Grand Egyptian Museum—home to 100,000 artifacts🏛️

00:00After 20 years in the making, the Grand Egyptian Museum in Cairo is finally set to open its doors.
00:05Here's what you can expect.
00:06The Archaeological Museum, which spans more than 5 million square feet,
00:10has been slowly opening since late 2024.
00:12Already, visitors can see upwards of 100,000 ancient treasures,
00:16including statues of kings and queens and even royal mummies.
00:18On July 3rd, the last exhibit, dedicated to King Tut, one of Egypt's best-known pharaohs,
00:23will open, featuring his famous golden sarcophagi, a funerary mask,
00:26and more than 5,000 other items found in his tomb, some of which have never been displayed before.
00:31As if that wasn't enough, the museum offers unobstructed views of the 4,600-year-old Pyramids of Giza.
