00:00Minnie, what did you do?
00:03Minnie?
00:05Hey, can I help you?
00:07Can I help you?
00:09Let me help you!
00:13You ever have a pig that gets in trouble and knows she's in trouble and won't let her?
00:17Anybody help?
00:18This is Minnie.
00:19Minnie, come on!
00:21Minnie, let me help you!
00:25Oh, it's gonna be a long night!
00:30So people ask what it's like to raise hogs.
00:47It's kind of having teenagers to make poor decisions while you're gone.
00:50Isn't that right, Minnie?
00:51That's a lovely new fashion trend you started.
00:54So, we're gonna get in now and try to get this tire off of Minnie that she decided to
00:59put on last night.
01:00And we may record part of it.
01:02It just depends how much of a rodeo this turns in to.
01:05But remember, folks, the important thing is to rotate your pigs about every 6,000 miles.
01:13That's what I figured.
01:16Minnie's more thirsty than she is scared right now.
01:22Minnie, can I pet you?
01:24I'm not going to touch your tire.
01:34I'm talking else, maybe I can keep her away for a minute.
01:50Minnie, can I pet you?
01:52I can't pet you.
01:53It's just water, big mama.
01:57Dad, it looks like you did that away with you, demon.
02:02Minnie, what are you doing?
02:03I'm trying something else.
02:06Yeah?
02:08You're a drama pig, that's for sure.
02:12What lesson did we learn, Minnie?
02:13Big mama, I'm trying to get Minnie a special drink.
02:29Big mama wants to try, try.
02:30Come on, Minnie, go try the special drink.
02:39Give me the other one.
02:43Give me the other one.
02:43The second you move.
02:50Here, give me the feed.
02:52I'll go get the feed.
02:53She said it in my episode that.
02:55What do you think, Minnie?
03:18Is it good?
03:20A lovely goatee there, Minnie.
03:38Mm-hmm. You're gonna trade piles? Okay. This is Minnie's life now.
03:51Just waiting for the bearded chicken.
03:58Let me know when you want me to play our tunes.
04:07We're gonna give her a minute. Let her calm down.
04:13Alright folks, so we've done operation, you know, get Minnie for Schnicket. Sad part is
04:19we had to give some to Big Mama too. She didn't understand why she couldn't have the, you know,
04:23make poor decision water. So gave me a can of yungling beer just to kind of get them a little
04:28more chill. Minnie's calmed down a little bit. She's not running away as much. So we're also
04:34gonna kind of hedge our bets. My goal as she calms down is to get it where I can cut the
04:39tire off of her. But I need her to be very chill for that, which is already kind of going against
04:44her nature. She's not, not as laid back as Big Mama. So while she's eating and kind of calm,
04:48I'm gonna grease her up with some canola oil on the off chance that I can't get the tire
04:53cut off before she decides to run away again. And at least give her a chance of maybe being
04:57able to slick it off herself or to slide it off her backside. So I'm just gonna coat the pig in
05:03canola oil and see what, see if that helps. Hopefully she'll just get a full belly and have
05:09nice warm buzz from the beer and just lay down. And I can just take a utility knife and just take
05:14my time and safely cut the tire off of her. But if not, plan, I don't even know where we're up to now,
05:19F or J here. It's going to be the canola oil that Katie's brought me. So we'll try to film
05:24another update as things for grass, but like I said, I can only tell a minute ago, having a farm is never boring.
05:31It's okay. I'm going to grease you up.
05:45It was two drops. That's a bit of a matter.
05:48I know, little one.
05:56Definitely mean to you, aren't it?
06:01Oh, I know.
06:04Tell me about it.
06:07Yes, tell me about it, little one.
06:18Alright, we're on plan N, PE, something like that. So, Big Mama here is a quiet, lovely drunk.
06:34She's very chill. She's a good girl, just like she always is, just even more relaxed.
06:38Minnie, apparently, is a hateful drunk. So she's already kind of an ornery fart.
06:42Now, she's even more hateful, and I don't know if she's seeing pink elephants at this point or what.
06:48I couldn't even drizzle the cooking oil on her to try to help slick up the tire.
06:53So our next plan here is Katie's found some T posts and stuff, and so I'm going to try to
06:59come out here in the center of the pen and just put a couple of posts in, kind of space just wide
07:04enough apart that hopefully Minnie can walk through, but the tire won't fit because she's got a little
07:09bit of a gap. So she's got some wiggle room on it, but when we tried to pull it off for last night,
07:13she wasn't having none of it. We couldn't get it past her head trying to go forward,
07:18but I think if she could walk into something and put some forward pressure on it, I think it would
07:23let her walk it down her back and then just kind of step out of it.
07:28So that's what we're going to try now because she is not letting us get anywhere near her,
07:32even in her slightly inebriated state, and I don't want her blowing through the fence or something
07:37while she's, you know, not making the best life choices right now. So we're going to try putting
07:42the T post in, and we may just have to let her have some time with it and see how it works out.
07:47I'm hoping maybe if she finally conks out here in a bit, I can sneak up behind the rose bush over
07:51there and drizzle some canola oil on her back. That way she'll have a little bit of lubrication to
07:57kind of help her slip that tire off against the T post. But that's the next part of our adventure
08:02in how to change a, you know, flat tire on your pig.
08:19All right, so I put the two posts in, as you can see here. So the idea is hopefully
08:23Minnie will come in either this way or come back this way with it. And that'll give her some leverage
08:30to kind of crank that tire off her backside. If she'll fall asleep, I'll go drop some oil on her
08:36and, like I said, kind of grease her up, give her a little bit of lubrication. But if she won't come
08:41over to this with it being kind of pinched at the bottom here, what I'm hoping to do is if I put her
08:46feet on one side while she's on the other, I can back up and it'll kind of encourage her to come
08:52through this kind of, I don't know, janky makeshift chute, tire, you know, leverage device
08:59or whatever. But five years of pigs, they've always played with the tire as a toy. Minnie's the first
09:07one to decide she wants to wear it. And sad thing is she's been here for three years, so she should
09:11have known better. But it's never a dull day when you've got pigs on the farm.
09:17All right, so we're on plan, like, B-17, something like a battleship, I don't know. But Minnie finally
09:23has the tire off of her. We're, I don't know, close to two weeks. We're going to get this off her
09:28between the tornadoes and the storms. And if you look at the tire, it's a little greasy on one end.
09:33We've been greasing her up every evening for over a week with canola oil.
09:37She's a little hungry. We've reduced her feed gradually with the vet's instruction.
09:43Drunk her butts all over the pen, and then she finally decided just to go under the gate and
09:47scraped it off. But of course, Katie's pig can't stay in. Big Mama could have walked out. She's a good
09:53girl. She stayed in her pen. Minnie decided to go on walkabout. But she's finally got the tire off of
09:59her. She has a very luscious coat in the center of her body now where she's been getting canola oil
10:03every night. Big Mama's going to be a little sad. She's been licking her every night trying to get the
10:07oil off of it because it tastes good. But Minnie no longer has the same tires. But like I said,
10:14the important thing is remember to change the oil on your pig about every 6,000 miles. Maybe make
10:19sure that your toys for your pigs are spaced a little smaller than your pig is. So like I said,
10:25the tire's been a great toy for our boars over the years. But Minnie was just the right size that
10:30she got stuck in it and wore it as a belly ring for a couple of weeks. So we're probably going to
10:35retire that tire for a different purpose. But thank you for joining us on this interesting
10:41journey that we've been doing. And hopefully you'll get a laugh out of this. And if you're
10:45watching this online, just leave a comment below of what kind of craziness you've got into your
10:50critters on your farm. I know since we started this journey, I've seen pigs stuck in feed sacks,
10:55pigs with their heads in buckets and chicken feeders. You know, critters everywhere. So if you've
11:01got a funny story, post it below, and we can all share in the things that make farming interest.
11:07All right. Y'all have a good one.
