00:00Since recording last week, we had kind of uncertainties surrounding David de Ancelotti
00:06and whether or not he was ready to step out and become his own man for the first time.
00:11Reports suggested in Spain that he could be joining his dad
00:17with the Brazil national team slightly longer than anticipated.
00:22And then in recent days, a flood of money once again for Steven Gerrard in the betting markets
00:27to the point that those betting markets, some have suspended their markets on the back of it,
00:33such as the cash that they've received.
00:35And Russell Martin, also another name, who has been towards the forefront of people's minds as well in recent times.
00:46What's the kind of latest around Rangers managerial situation?
00:50I think we're at the stage of plucking names out and just, you know, seeing who sticks for the longest, to be honest,
00:55because it's went from David de Ancelotti to, I think there was a report in Brazil or Spain that shot that down.
01:02Then that was back up again.
01:03Now you've got the sort of latest one.
01:06I think there's Danny Roll at Sheffield Wednesday was firmly linked in some quarters.
01:11Gary O'Neill, Rob Edwards, Russell Martin, as you mentioned, Sean Dyche with the Kevin Thelwell connection to Everton.
01:18And now it seems like Gerrard, there's been some quite strong reporting around him,
01:22sort of being the preferred candidate he's been labelled in some fairly distinguished places.
01:27And, yeah, I think it seems to be, in terms of the ones who have been strongly linked so far,
01:34it seems to be Dabby, Dancelotti and Steven Gerrard.
01:37And there's been lots of names floated about outside that, but the other ones haven't really stuck like those two have.
01:46And Gerrard seems to be the latest one.
01:48I think it would be, I think Rangers fans would need convincing on it.
01:54I know he won the title last time, but he's not done very well at all in his last two jobs.
01:59I think there's maybe even some doubts about, sort of, you know, how good was that team?
02:07And I'm talking about the coaching staff, obviously Michael Beals came back and that didn't go well for him in the Ibrox dugout.
02:14So I think there would be some question marks that, you know, a thorough and robust search for this new manager,
02:20new takeover, and you end up with your former manager.
02:24It just seems, and I mean, if he's the best candidate, they go through this thorough search and they come to Steven Gerrard,
02:30then it is what it is.
02:31But the optics of that, I think, you know, he's a big name, but I think he comes to Rangers where he stalks in a weird way less than what he initially arrived with.
02:41You got, the last time Gerrard was here, you got the excitement.
02:44He'd never been in the dugout.
02:45People all across the world, really, he's a worldwide footballing name, were really keen to see how he would do at such a big club like Rangers.
02:52Whereas I feel like that story's sort of been and gone now.
02:55I think you kind of know what you're going to get with Steven Gerrard at Rangers.
02:58So I'd be interested to see them go back there.
03:01Obviously Celtic have gone back to Brendan Rodgers and it's worked out very well.
03:05I suppose I'm thinking well be for Rangers.
03:07This is the last guy to win us the title.
03:09Why can't he now when we can pretty much offer him probably more budget than he had the last time with the 49ers coming in?
