00:00Panthers and Hurricanes tonight. Game 1 Stanley Cup Eastern Conference Finals. Here is Matthew Kachuk.

00:06Of course these two teams know each other very well. Kachuk says not easy to play against the Hurricanes.

00:12I don't think really anybody enjoys playing Carolina. Like they're a tough team to play against and they make it hard on you every game.

00:22But yeah, there were good memories here in this building a couple years ago in that whole series for us.

00:27But, you know, it's all back to zeros now. It's a new year, a new series.

00:32I mean, we, you know, you think about it the last, I personally thought Carolina was going to beat the Rangers last year.

00:39So when you look at it, it could have been three years in a row of us playing against each other in the Conference Finals.

00:43So I think that just speaks to how not only talented our two teams are, but how we're built for playoffs.

00:50And they are as well. Like they're a great team and it's going to make for another great showdown.

00:55Yeah, without a doubt. I, listen, I, I think they have their hands full tonight in particular,

01:01based on the schedule that they've just been through and got through and finished off the Leafs the hard way,

01:08but in seven on a row, but they look fantastic doing it.

01:12Didn't they? The basically 12, two and goals in games five and seven added up,

01:17but now they got to play this monster and they are without a doubt.

01:21I talked about Jarvis, Aho, Svechnikov. It goes a lot deeper than that.

01:26They mean business. And I think tonight they have to take advantage of where they are and handle their business.

01:35I think any, anything less than a win tonight for them is a failure.

01:39And I think if they lose tonight, I'm not even kidding you.

01:42I think it spells doom the rest of the way because they need to jump on them tonight and win this game and say,

01:49we are here. There's not going to be any sweeps or any of this other stuff.

01:52We're here. We're winning this and we're starting off with a win.

01:55And otherwise I think they'll find themselves again at the wrong end of it.

02:02Yeah. Look, I agree.

02:03I usually don't really subscribe to the feeling that game one is a must win and it's all,

02:09you know, that's a long series. I think this is as must win as it gets for Carolina tonight.

02:14They got swept by him two years ago. They've had so many days off.

02:19Florida's just played every other night. I mean, they just played Sunday night.

02:22They played seven games. You know, you're at home. If you're going to win this series,

02:27you have got to establish something tonight in your building because I'll tell you what,

02:33they lose tonight at home and Florida gets them again in the first game.

02:37Florida could sweep them like they did two years ago. Florida will take them down

02:40because that Carolina group, it's like that gets up here with them.

02:44This has to every single year, the same thing. And I could see it steamroll.

02:48I think they got to win tonight. Honestly, this is a must win for them.

02:51And I think they will. I'm with you. I think Carolina is going to win.

02:54And they are favorites, clearly. Minus 134, I've got them at, at this moment.

03:00Down minus 125 there. I got them up to minus 134. I've got the Panthers now at plus 112

03:05with the five and a half total.

03:07All right. Yeah, I'm on them. I'm with you. We're in the same boat.

03:12Yes, indeed we are. But we also both think Florida wins the series, just doesn't win tonight.

03:17We both think that Florida is going to win this series. We just don't think they'll win.

03:20Yeah, I do too.

03:22All right. And how about this? We even get the player props for the hockey tonight.

03:26Bobrovsky, 35 plus saves at 11-1. Look out. Reinhardt to score a goal.

03:30Marshawn under a point. They don't think Marshawn will get a point tonight.

03:33Svechnikov to score at plus 220. Svechnikov first goal at 13-1.

03:38The most bet player props for that game tonight. How about that?

03:42I'm giving you all of it today. Even the NHL player.

03:45Yeah, I like Marshawn to go over. I like him to have a point. I think he'll have an assist or frankly a goal tonight.

03:56He's a big game player. I do not believe that the Panthers are going to allow 35 shots tonight.

04:04If they do, they're going to get their ass beat.

04:07Okay, they need to get into a, you know, this team clamps down on you like no other.

04:14And they need to give them a taste of their own medicine.

04:17They need to play the same kind of way.

04:19Three guys back in the blue line, like old trap days, Mike.

04:23And, you know, you come across the line, you're going to get lit up.

04:25But, you know, I thought, you know, I saw a lot of that in, you know, the Winnipeg Jets the other night in Dallas.

04:34They were, I thought they were clamping down.

04:36It was a 1-1 game, right? And then they beat them 2-1.

04:39So, if they give up 35 shots, they're screwed.

04:43And then, what's the other one? Svechnikov, any time goal.

04:47I can see that, certainly.

04:49And then the last one, what is it?

04:52Svechnikov just goes first goal.

04:54Oh, screw it.

04:56You know, look.

04:57That's, yeah.

04:57A guy that I'd bet on for an anytime goal is Jarvis.

05:01I think he's been on fire for them in the playoffs.

05:04More so than Aho.

05:06More so, in my view, than Svechnikov.

05:09In fact, if I were to guess, I think Jarvis leads them in points in the playoffs.
