Speaking to reporters in the Oval Office, President Trump was asked about Russian President Vladimir Putin's willingness to accept a 30-day ceasefire.

00:04Mr. President, as you know, two and a half months ago,

00:10Ukraine, President Zelensky, agreed to that 30-day ceasefire

00:13that's been on the table all of that time.

00:16What was the extent of your conversation with President Putin today

00:20about having him agree to that same 30-day ceasefire proposal

00:25that you, Mr. President, put on the table?

00:26Well, what we've done, and very strongly, is we said,

00:30let's get this thing going.

00:31You know, I had many of the leaders of European nations

00:34on the line with me right after the call,

00:38and we have to get that thing solved.

00:415,000 young people every single week on average.

00:45And I've seen satellite pictures.

00:48You don't want to see these pictures.

00:50We'll have to see what happens.

00:52This was not my war.

00:53This is not a war that would have happened if I were president.

01:06and yet that's not – frankly, we made much more than that

01:11just in four days in the Middle East.

01:14It's a lot of money, but we do much.

01:17This is about thousands of people dying every single week.

01:215,000, 6,000 people dying every single week.

01:26And just like you have the relatives here,

01:28wives and children and everything,

01:31you have – you know, these soldiers,

01:33they say goodbye in Ukraine and in Russia,

01:37and then their parents never see them again,

01:39except maybe in pictures of horrible scenes,

01:42because I've seen some scenes.

01:43I've never seen anything like it.

01:44So we're going to see if we can get it taken care of.
