00:00I remember the first day, and they're not going to appreciate this, but I remember watching Joaquin sort of try to find Joe.
00:08Remember that?
00:09Yeah.
00:09We did probably 30 takes of the first scene because Joaquin just kept me like, he wasn't feeling it.
00:15I wasn't feeling it.
00:16And I was like, watching a master at work, and I was very frustrated because he could not find this guy.
00:23And it was wild.
00:25Do you remember what I'm talking about?
00:26Yeah, literally.
00:26He was just drawing circles on the floor.
00:28And he was just like, I don't know what I'm doing.
00:30He kept me like, I don't know what I'm doing.
00:31And I'm like, but you're Joaquin Phoenix, and you're the greatest actor alive.
00:35What do you mean you don't know what you're doing?
00:36Like, if you don't know what you're doing, I'm, this, okay.
00:39We're all cooked.
00:41Literally.
00:42And then watching him sort of find it and feel it, and then all of a sudden we're making a movie.
00:47That first day was wild for me.
00:49It's crazy because obviously when you're shooting a movie, you never shoot it in order.
00:55So, you know, you could, we'd done, I think we'd done something from nearer to the end of the movie.
01:01It was a scene where Joaquin has a long kind of monologue, so to just get, I was lucky.
01:06I didn't have, I didn't have to say anything, so we could actually take in the environment
01:10and actually be a part of a great, a great story.
01:13So, yeah, that first day was amazing for me personally.
01:15Thank you.
