Правда ли, что власти Турции призывают туристов из Индии игнорировать бойкот поездок в страну?  После того, как Анкара поддержала Исламабад в конфликте с Нью-Дели,  индийских граждан призвали бойкотировать поездки в Турцию. Местные туроператоры даже приостановили продажу туров. В соцсетях появилось фейк-заявление турецких властей, в котором индийских туристов приглашают посетить страну. 00:00Fake Turkish government advert urges Indian tourists to ignore boycott.

00:07A sham announcement from the Turkish government is circulating online,

00:11urging Indian tourists to refrain from cancelling or postponing their trips

00:15amid New Delhi's hostilities with Pakistan.

00:18The announcement says that the vast majority of Turkish people

00:21are unaware of the conflict between India and Pakistan,

00:24that Indians are still warmly welcome,

00:26and that they'll still be safe throughout their stay in Turkey.

00:29It's been shared on social media against the backdrop of a Turkish boycott in India,

00:34which includes calls to boycott travel to Turkey

00:36and the severing of ties with Turkish businesses and universities

00:40after Ankara was quick to back Islamabad in the conflict.

00:43Various Indian media outlets even picked up the supposed government statement

00:47and reported on it as if it were authentic.

00:49It's also made its way to the Greek side of X,

00:52with some claiming that it shows the Turkish tourism industry is panicking

00:55and that holidaymakers should consider travelling instead to Greece

00:59which they say is a more stalwart ally of India.

01:02However, several clues show that the announcement is fake,

01:05beginning with the fact that it's supposedly been shared by the Department of Tourism.

01:09No such department exists.

01:11Its real name is the Ministry of Culture and Tourism.

01:14A subtle difference, but any official government announcement would get that right.

01:18If we take a look at the list of recent official press releases

01:21by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism,

01:23we see that no such announcement exists.

01:26Additionally, the supposed announcement looks nothing like any of the authentic statements put out recently

01:31and no reputable Turkish news organisation appears to have reported on it.

01:35Euroverify reached out to the Ministry of Culture and Tourism

01:38but didn't receive a response as of the time of recording.

01:41Nevertheless, the Indian boycott against Turkey is very much real

01:45following reports that Pakistan used Turkish drones against India.

01:49Indian travel sites say that cancellations have shot up over the past week

01:53with some even discouraging travel to Turkey.
