The DiElle Trio will get the 2025 Festival of Chichester off to a great start when they offer their summer party at The Pallant, Pallant Road, Havant, PO9 1BE on Saturday, June 14 at 7pm.

00:06of the Festival of Chichester and lovely to speak to DL today. Now DL, you've got three

00:11events, three events at this year's Festival of Chichester, which is fantastic, starting

00:15off on the opening day of the festival with the DL Trio. Tell me about the DL Trio, what

00:21do you do?

00:22That's right. Hi Phil. So the DL Trio, we do big harmony, we have a mini Eagles

00:29vibe and we do harmony arrangements and acoustic arrangements of original songs and basically

00:36songs that we love, which is singer-songwriters from the 60s and 70s up to, I used to say

00:43the modern day, but to be honest it's probably about the late 90s is the most modern thing

00:48that we do. The Summer Party is at the Palant and it's a Tiki Bar theme this time, so bring

00:57your Hawaiian shirts and it's just about, you know, being together and having a good

01:02sing-song and celebrating the summer. The DL Trio is, we love a good laugh and sometimes

01:08we'll pass around a book and ask you a cheeky question that maybe we'll read out the answers.

01:14And you've also got the Laurel Canyon experience, haven't you?

01:18That's right. That's specifically a particular set of singer-songwriters, isn't it?

01:24It is, yeah. The Laurel Canyon experience is stories and songs from Joni Mitchell, James

01:31Taylor, Carole King, the Eagles, Crosby, Stills and Nash and about the cross-pollination of

01:37their, the development of their songwriting and their early careers, which is something that's

01:43gone on to inspire thousands of people. It's packed with nostalgia and old sing-along songs.

01:52You might think that you don't know the songs, but you will. You'll know them.

01:56And to complete your festival of Chichester Hattrick, you've got singing in Bishop's Palace

02:00Garden. Now you've changed the date since we printed the brochure. It's not Sunday the 6th

02:05of July. It's Sunday the 13th of July. It's the 13th. That's right. It's the following

02:11week. It clashed, it clashed with a celebration at the, at the cathedral. So we're doing it

02:19the following week. And what's that about? What's singing in the Bishop's Garden about?

02:22This is choirs. This is a little mini choir festival. So we've got, we've got a number of

02:28choirs. There are, there are several really lovely choirs in the Chichester area. And this

02:33is John Gleddle's brainchild. He, this was his idea, this event, and we all get together

02:39and share with each other what we've been singing in the, well, since the last time we met,

02:45since last summer. And, and, and this year we're learning a few songs to all sing together

02:49as well. So it's going to be something, something like 80 singers, I think, or more all together.

02:55It's always a really lovely afternoon.

02:58It sounds fantastic. Well, brilliant that you've got three events in the festival this year.

03:01Next year, you're going to have to have four events on you. Three is fabulous. Yeah, lovely
