00:00Mariska Hargitay dropping a major family bombshell, revealing Mickey Hargitay is not her biological father.

00:10Okay, here's a slice of reality.

00:12The Law and Order actress spilling her family's reality to Vanity Fair,

00:17saying singer Nelson Sardelli, who had a high-profile fling with her mother Jane Mansfield, is her real dad.

00:24Jane died in a car crash when Mariska was just three years old.

00:28She and her four siblings were then raised by Mickey, who Mariska calls her everything and her idol.

00:34My dad has got a lot of good advice to give me, a lot of experience,

00:38a lot of knowing what's happened, when, why, and why people do things.

00:43That just comes with age, and they've been real helpful and real supportive.

00:48The actress says early on she knew something was up,

00:51and her suspicions grew when she first saw a picture of Sardelli.

00:54But when she confronted Mickey, he denied her claims.

00:59I sort of, you know, follow the signs.

01:01I try to live by my gut.

01:03Mariska tells the mag she came face-to-face with Sardelli when she was 30,

01:07something she says the singer had been waiting for.

01:10But despite their meeting, the actress says she still considered Mickey her dad.

01:14She tells Vanity Fair,

01:15I'm Mickey Hargitay's daughter.

01:17That is not a lie.

01:19And her upcoming HBO documentary My Mom Jane is more of a love letter to Hargitay

01:23because, quote,

01:25there's no one that I was closer to on this planet.
