Watch Kansas tornado rip apart vehicles on highway

AccuWeather's Tony Laubach shares his story of driving through a tornado in Kansas and seeing destroyed vehicles along the highway.

00:00As we came up we didn't see the tornado right away and then as we got closer we

00:11could see just this monster tornado on the highway and two semis passed us as

00:16we stopped. Both of them drove into the tornado we watched them get flipped off

00:20waited till the tornado crossed the road when we stopped to pull off we saw one

00:24of the drivers who was just kind of hanging out of the cab and then with

00:27all these cars thrown all over the field so we checked on the driver of the

00:30semi and he was hurt but he was responsive and I like looking around at

00:35the other cars and kind of took a deep breath I'm thinking oh my god

00:38everybody's dead and fortunately it turns out that he was towing a trailer that was

00:43full of cars and all the cars that we saw that were just littered hundreds of

00:47yards into the field off the interstate so a hurrying experience just absolutely

00:53terrifying just just to know there's nothing you can do they just drove right

00:56by you and you prayed and thank god they were okay you know to the best of

01:02their abilities I guess
