01:00Another brilliant season for the champions who are looking to add to the 111 goals they've already scored on their way to the title.
01:06Trophy day in a sunny Glasgow as Celtic prepare to celebrate their latest success.
01:14However, this is a game that means much to St. Mirren who come into it knowing back-to-back European qualifications is still possible.
01:22Well, McGregor and Bernardo survive from the 11 that started at Petaudry on Wednesday.
01:28Schmeichel returns in goal with Carter Vickers and Johnston free of injury and ready in time for the cup final next week.
01:35Captain O'Hara's back in for Saints who came back to draw with hips during the week.
01:39Otherwise, consistency and selection has been a real strength for Steven Robinson.
01:44Brendan Rodgers ready to lift the title again as Parkhead remembers the former Celtic chairman, Jack McGinn, whose grandson Steven is here.
01:54An emotional moment for the family.
02:02Well, the game underway in St. Mirren looking for a rare victory at Celtic Park.
02:07Just the 1 in 35 years when they did so in January 21.
02:11And he's one of just six Saints managers to beat Celtic over the last 40-odd years.
02:21Niklas Kuhn.
02:24It's an argument to say the starting 11 for Celtic today.
02:28Will start at Hampden next week.
02:31As Engels puts it across.
02:33Well, it should have been comfortable for Hemming.
02:35Gogic has to bail him out a little bit.
02:37As it squirmed away from him.
02:39As Johnston puts it across.
02:41Dickinson again.
02:42The goalkeeper can't hold on.
02:45You can see Mirren get away with it.
02:46A lovely little touch that by Mandron to take the pressure off.
02:49Albeit.
02:51Referee Dickinson has stopped play.
02:53Some of an injury to the keeper.
02:55Been relieved that Gogic was on hand there.
02:59And he came right back at him.
03:02Maida couldn't profit.
03:05He looks to match Kuhn.
03:08Farahashi's best goal-scoring season here with his next one.
03:14Well, fifth place would be amazing for Robinson and for Saints.
03:19Need other results to go their way as well as taking something positive from this one for that to become reality.
03:28Here's Alibi Yusuf.
03:32Ohara jumps.
03:36Gets a second chance.
03:38Scoops it towards Mikkel Mandron.
03:39That's a difficult one for the Saints number nine to take that.
03:46He's also got a very tough angle to shoot from and he did well to get it on target.
04:01Scales.
04:01And now Maida.
04:08And it's wayward.
04:12Ryan Alibi Yusuf has actually done a pretty good job of Dyson Maida in this first half.
04:20Brendan Rodgers looking to create more history next week.
04:23He looks for a third treble as Celtic manager.
04:31And we'll take him above Joxstein.
04:35Here's Bernardo.
04:38Looking to squeeze it through to Ida.
04:42Here's Kuhn.
04:44Comes back to McGregor.
04:47Not one of his finest.
04:49It's in the double figures this season for goals.
04:52And it's Greg Taylor's ball for Ida.
05:08And Kuhn.
05:09He's got away from Richard Taylor.
05:11Options waiting.
05:14Kuhn.
05:15And Bernardo.
05:18And St Mirren cried him out.
05:22And you just wonder if Kuhn could have got a shot away himself here.
05:29St Mirren did well.
05:30They got back.
05:30They got deep.
05:33Just keeping Celtic at arm's length.
05:35So Hara.
05:45He's clearly fouled there by Engels.
05:52Big afternoon for James Forrest.
05:54The most decorated player in Celtic's history.
05:56Would expect him to come on at some point.
05:59In from John.
06:03Breaks to Iyunga.
06:10A glorious moment for St Mirren.
06:13And for Jonah Iyunga.
06:15And those visiting supporters.
06:18Who still believe they'll be getting the passports out.
06:20Fine finish.
06:26Really good.
06:28By Iyunga.
06:29Scales.
06:30Couldn't get it any further out.
06:34And Iyunga was there to snap it up.
06:38St Mirren lead at Celtic Park.
06:41And the dream is still alive.
06:47Brendan Rodgers looking to the bench.
06:50Just minutes after his team fell behind.
06:55James Forrest will be taking the trophy out onto the Celtic Park pitch after the game.
07:00He'll get his chance.
07:0114, one for two.
07:03Engels.
07:13And Forrest.
07:16Maida for MacGregor.
07:19Greg Taylor.
07:20Is this his last game at Celtic Park?
07:22In the green and white hoops.
07:25Forrest.
07:28Both Yang and Maida have gone closer to the near post.
07:33Taylor back to McCowan.
07:39Just evades James Forrest who
07:42continues to search for this goal that would mean he scored in 16 successive seasons
07:48in the Celtic first team.
07:58Yang.
07:59Gets it back.
08:05Taylor.
08:06And MacGregor.
08:08St Mirren have been so well organised and well disciplined.
08:13Celtic continue to knock on the door though.
08:16And Maida!
08:16The player of the season.
08:23Maida stuck the house.
08:25On him.
08:27Finding the net there.
08:31Great play by Forrest.
08:32He has made a difference since coming on.
08:33St Mirren.
08:34St Mirren survive.
08:39What's Jonah Iunga going to add his name to the list of match winners for St Mirren here?
08:44Torfesson, Shaw, Lambert, Dennis Durmas.
08:49Here's Forrest.
08:50And then another effort from Arnott Engels is blocked by Marcus Fraser.
08:57He was at a fine afternoon against the team he started at.
09:02Good block.
09:06Who was so animated on the touchline is Steven Robinson as he talks to Brian Kerr.
09:10McAllen shuffles on to his right and that's over.
09:21Well, St Mirren looking to spoil the party here.
09:25So far, so good for them.
09:28He's only lost three home league games as Celtic boss, as Brendan Rodgers.
09:36Here's O'Hara.
09:38And now Keltie.
09:40It's a good ball.
09:49Tanzer.
09:50It's going to break to Odowo here.
09:55Sloop and Yang trying to put the block up, but it's Odowo with the effort, which is comfortably held by Schmeichel.
10:05He's looking to seal it.
10:07On trophy day, no less.
10:10The Celtic winning it back through Forrest.
10:19And here goes Johnny Kerry.
10:21A mismatch there with Gogich.
10:22It's Kerry.
10:24Two attempts at it.
10:27And Heming keeps it out.
10:28And here's a feinsheet.
10:33And it's just the second victory here since 1990 for St Mirren.
10:37McGregor.
10:44McGregor.
10:44A little dig through.
10:47Yang!
10:49Still, it won't go in.
10:52Zach Heming's being tested more regularly now.
10:55Takes a little nick on its way through to Yang.
10:59He scored at Petaudry in the week.
11:01And he loses out.
11:08And we know it's Celtic a lot when it comes to late goals.
11:14But Luke McCowan had his pocket pick there by Iacoviti.
11:17Celtic win it back.
11:18Now it's Forrest in full flow.
11:24Three, four, Schlepp.
11:29And again, they can't fight the equaliser.
11:32And it's a brilliant sliding block by Fraser.
11:36Steven Robinson's back three.
11:38A bit excellent this season.
11:39Forrest out to Johnston.
11:53Again, Forrest.
11:56On his left side, too.
12:01The fans are desperate for him to notch.
12:09Yang.
12:20Combination of Phillips and Fraser.
12:23Keeping him out.
12:24But it's given away by Fraser.
12:26It's Johnston.
12:28Here's Forrest.
12:28This is his big moment.
12:29It is!
12:33It is!
12:39He's received that the script was written for this.
12:46And James Forrest.
12:48Who is more winner's medals than anyone in Celtic's history.
12:53Has now scored in 16 successive seasons.
13:00For Celtic.
13:02His only club.
13:05And how this place loved that.
13:09Stoppage time.
13:11Right at the end of the league season.
13:13It had to be him.
13:15And St. Merrin have been denied a famous victory.
13:20Kind words, I'm sure.
13:21From Brendan Rodgers to his countryman Steven Robinson.
13:26But James Forrest comes up with a last say.
13:29Of Celtic's Premiership title defence.
13:33Their latest success.
13:35Can now be celebrated.
13:37And out he comes with the trophy.
13:41To the adulation of 60,000.
13:46Celtic champions again.
13:49For 24-25.
13:52And just who is going to stop them?
13:56Making it five in a row next year.
13:59It is party time once again in Glasgow's East End.
14:05And they'll be so confident there'll be another one coming a week to date.
14:10Obviously, we work so hard all year.
14:15There's a lot of sacrifice from many people to bring this success.
14:19And that's why, for me, it belongs to everyone.
14:21But we're very fortunate every day to do a profession that we love and enjoy.
14:28The supporters drive the expectation here and the ambition of the club.
14:31And we have to serve them.
14:33But to serve them in days like today, it's a real honour and a privilege to manage the club.
14:39And, of course, when you pick up the title, it's a great day.
14:41Even if we won the game, we couldn't have got Europe.
14:45But to remain unbeaten in the top six.
14:47To come here and not be beat by a Celtic side coming to party.
14:51You know, obviously, you don't have as much possession against Celtic.
14:53But when we did, we tried to play.
14:55We tried to pass.
14:56And we're playing against the top side.
14:58So we got punished for one mistake right at the end.
15:01But overall, I can't ask any more from these group of players.
15:05They're playing way above the resources that we're putting into the team.
15:08They give everything for the badge.
15:10And I'm proud to say I'm the manager of that group of boys.
15:13Obviously, you need to try and detach yourself a little bit and enjoy it.
15:18But if I'm being brutally honest, I'm probably still in a bad mood about the game.
15:21I have to be honest and I'm trying to enjoy it.
15:24But I'm a bit annoyed about the game.
15:26But I'll get that out of my system in the next 48 hours.
15:29And then we have to be ready for the cup final.
15:30Because we've been so good that we deserve to have the three trophies.
15:34So we have to then go and prove it.
15:37It's almost like it's written in the stars.
15:38And to be honest, it's the Celtic story.
15:41There's always a little bit of magic that follows this place.
15:44And I think over the last probably three or four games,
15:46everybody's been trying to suck the ball into the net for James.
15:49And it finally happens today.
15:52But again, you see his contribution when he comes on.
15:54He looks sharp.
15:55He looks good.
15:57He's decisive in the game.
15:58And obviously gets us the goal.
15:59So what a player.
16:02What a person as well.
16:04And I'm so, so happy he got his moment there.
16:05A special moment for Brendan Rodgers, the staff, the players.
16:12It's the reward for all the hard work, Mikey, that's been put in this season.
16:16The standards that they've set have been incredible.
16:19But it's the fact that they've maintained those standards.
16:21I can only think of maybe one or two occasions they've dropped below those standards.
16:24And thoroughly deserve to enjoy their evening tonight.
16:27Absolutely, yeah.
16:29Quite interesting just hearing Cal McGregor there talking as well.
16:32In terms of, you know, a little bit subdued due to his disappointment with the game.
16:38And, you know, refocusing on the cup final to come.
16:41So I think that gives you an insight into the reason why they are so consistent.
16:46And maintain those levels.
16:47And you hear all the players talking about it quite a lot.
16:50Especially at this time of the season where they're not allowed to let the standards drop.
16:54They drive each other on.
16:55The manager obviously is front and centre to a lot of that.
16:58And it's not easy when the pressure is not coming externally.
17:02They make it look easy, don't they?
17:04Celtic, for instance, winning trophy after trophy after trophy.
17:08A likelihood they'll win a treble as well.
17:11But it's not at all easy.
17:13No, I mean, look, let's be brutally honest.
17:15They have far greater resources and they're a bigger club than anyone else in the country.
17:20But that's where the complacency could quite easily set.
17:23Which it doesn't.
17:25And that's the real sort of key to that.
17:28That they drive those standards all the time.
17:30The manager is, as I said, front and centre to that.
17:33And, yeah, I would be very surprised if they weren't picking up a cup final trophy next week.
17:39And another treble, which is phenomenal.
17:42I think everybody would be surprised given Aberdeen's latest results.
17:45But anyway, James Forrest, with seconds to go in the game, finally gets his goal.
17:51It's his 16th consecutive season, scoring for Celtic.
17:53Phenomenal.
17:54And it was written in the stars for him, wasn't it?
17:56Yeah, I mean, it was.
17:57I thought he made a big difference when he came on.
17:59You know, primarily because he's getting on the outside.
18:02They switched over for a moment where he went over on the left.
18:05And I was wondering why to do that.
18:06But, obviously, a big disappointment for Marcus Frazier.
18:08He's trying to hit it off Yang.
18:10But he plays it right back into the danger area.
18:12But you see there Forrest peeling away.
18:14He's getting out to create that space for him.
18:17You just watch this here as he starts to drift inside when the ball's potentially going to get played in.
18:22But as soon as the ball starts to move its way into the middle of the park, he then peels away out.
18:26Look at that.
18:26Just to give himself the space.
18:28That's clever.
18:29So that he can get this strike away.
18:30Now, there's no question that Zach Hemming is going to be disappointed with this.
18:35James Forrest is not the cleanest of strikes.
18:37He cuts across it a little bit.
18:39But the goalkeeper shoots him doing better.
18:39Here's his very first goal.
18:41Has that changed a bit?
18:42No, no, that was Aidan McGeady.
18:44That's the funniest thing you've ever said on this show.
18:48That was good.
18:49It's a great finish.
18:49It was.
18:50An absolutely brilliant finish.
18:52And, yeah, I mean, to score 16 consecutive league campaigns is just a phenomenal achievement.
18:57That is.
18:58That is.
18:58Incredible.
18:59And, you know, so many trophies and honours as well, really.
19:05St. Mirren were good today, weren't they?
19:07They were.
19:08You stopped struggling.
19:09Yeah, I just couldn't believe you made that funny remark.
19:11But Aunga, he put St. Mirren ahead in the game.
19:14And you have to say, you know, they were deserved of the lead.
19:17They were brilliant defensively.
19:18Again, the organisation, the discipline, superb.
19:21And got themselves in front and looked for long spells that were going to hold on to.
19:25I looked for long spells like it was just going to be the perfect away performance from St. Mirren.
19:29And, you know, I'm just highlighting Aunga there because as that ball's getting thrown at the box,
19:33he has the wherewithal just to hold.
19:35He's holding that edge of the box.
19:37Potentially for things like that, just that knockdown.
19:39The whole backline of Celtic drops.
19:42He just holds up.
19:43It's just a great first touch and a really good strike.
19:45I know it takes a slight nick off of, I think it's Bernardo,
19:48but it's a really, really good goal from St. Mirren.
19:51And the overall performance, as you said there, was good.
19:54Very strong, very well organised.
19:56All the things that you come to expect from St. Mirren.
19:58Undefeated in the post-split fixtures, a third consecutive top six season, if you like.
20:05I think the big worry for St. Mirren is how well they're doing.
20:08It's keeping a hold of Stephen Robertson because people will be looking at what he's delivering for that club.
20:12It's been phenomenal.
20:14Yeah, and understandably so because, you know,
20:17he said it himself there in the post-match interviews in terms of they are overachieving,
20:22to put it bluntly.
20:24And when somebody's doing that for, you know, not just a, you know, flash in the pan one season or whatever.
20:30This is over a prolonged period of time that it would not be a surprise if there are other clubs that are having a close look at the manager.
20:37Brendan Rodgers has the opportunity a week today to be the first Celtic manager to win the treble three times.
20:44It would be an incredible achievement.
20:46It's difficult to see anything other than that outcome.
20:49But obviously you don't just turn up in a cup final.
20:50They're still going to have to perform.
20:53And I think that's what Callum McGregor was getting out of there.
20:55He knows there's a big, big game a week today.
20:58Absolutely.
20:58I mean, you know, it was a point I was making there in terms of it's quite insightful seeing,
21:02you know, the captain talking in those, those way, in that way, sorry, because, you know,
21:08they've just won the league.
21:09They've lifted the trophy, the cup there, but he's disappointed about the performance
21:13and he's focusing on the cup final next week.
21:14It's that sort of mentality that is at the heart of why they stand on the cusp of, you know,
21:20picking up another treble.
21:22Okay.
21:23Rangers final.
