Thousands flocked to Northern Ireland’s north coast over the weekend as soaring temperatures brought a welcome burst of summer – and a boost for local businesses. West Strand in Portrush was a hive of activity, with the arrival of a striking cruise ship drawing crowds to the golden sands. In scenes that could easily be mistaken for the Mediterranean, children played in the sand while swimmers took to the glistening sea, soaking up the sunshine and the holiday atmosphere.
