Apple's latest innovation lets users control their iPhone and iPad with brain signals.
Transcript
00:00People will soon be able to control their iPhones and iPads with their brain.
00:06Sounds impossible right? Apple is collaborating with Synchron to develop
00:10brain-computer interface technology enabling people to control devices like
00:14iPhones and iPads with their thoughts. This tech involves a small implant called
00:19stent road placed in a vein near the brain's motor cortex which picks up
00:23electrical signals and translates them into device commands. Currently a user
00:27called Mark Jackson is using his iPhone and Vision Pro with brain signals and
00:31navigating screens albeit slower than traditional methods. Jackson suffers from
00:35ALS and nervous system disease. Now Apple plans to release a software standard later
00:40this year for developers to build compatible apps potentially making mind
00:43controlling technology more mainstream and accessible for people with severe
00:47physical disabilities. This innovation could revolutionize device interaction and
00:52improve lives with Apple's involvement likely to accelerate adoption and
00:56innovation in the field.
