Gaurav Sawant from India Today shot and interviewed on Made in India Light Specialist Vehicle — a 3600cc special bulletproof jeep used to fire missiles on Pakistani positions and transport troops in combat zones during Operation Sindoor.
00:00Unfiltered, unafraid and unmissable, join us on the front lines with the heroes of Operation Sindhu.
00:06From forward bases tearing down Pakistan, witness the men, the machines and the sheer grit behind India's precision strikes on our neighbour.
00:20Reporting from the Jammu-Panjab border, Gaurav Savant is reporting from a made-in-India light speciality vehicle.
00:28This 3600cc special bulletproof GPS used to fire missiles on Pakistani positions. Take a look.
00:41One of the biggest stories of Operation Sindhu is victory on the back of Atmanirbhar Bharat, a fact not many people know.
00:50For example, this LSV or the light specialist vehicle we are on is made in India and this, according to the army, is quite a game changer.
01:00Whitney is a young Indian army major who brought down very effective fire on the Pakistani positions and destroyed a Pakistani post.
01:09Major, describe to us your movement on the LSV.
01:13During Op Sindhu, this vehicle's limits were tested and amidst the heavy fire, this vehicle was able to bring troops, weapons, ammunition to the forward post amidst heavy fire.
01:27And nothing happened to this vehicle and in that way, this vehicle was a game changer on the battlefield.
01:32And the best thing is one, it's made in India.
01:34Two, very, very powerful. I think 3800 horsepower engine.
01:38Yeah, absolutely. The engine is very powerful. Its armor is quite good.
01:44Bullet doesn't penetrate through it. And the shells, the splinters, they do nothing. It has no effect on this vehicle.
01:52During Op Sindhu, how did you use this vehicle and especially in this area?
01:56This was one of the worst impacted areas along the international border.
02:01Absolutely. This vehicle, as you can see the terrain, the terrain is quite undulating.
02:05It is full of marshy land. You can see it's a deserted kind of, desert kind of terrain.
02:12And in this terrain, this kind of vehicle, which requires heavy off-roading, this vehicle proved to be a game changer.
02:19And induction of troops, induction of ammunition was done on this vehicle.
02:24And with the help of that, we were able to bring down effective fire on the enemy and completely destroy enemy's forward posts.
02:30The army had to move some of its motors to be able to strike deeper into enemy territory and in the line of fire.
02:40So you had one team that was crouching, literally running in the line of fire, shifting its enemy motors.
02:48The other team on this was quickly moving men and material.
02:52And also this is capable of firing that Concorde missile.
02:55Yeah, while we were moving from one place to another place and we were simultaneously utilising our anti-tank weapons from this vehicle also.
03:05Because of which the enemy's fire got silenced.
03:08And we were able to effectively pin down the enemy and bring down heavy fire on the enemy.
03:13The ingenuity of the Indian mind, the Jugaad when required, this can be used to fly drones to keep an eye on the enemy.
03:22It can be used to fire a missile, an anti-tank guided missile.
03:26And what is very fascinating, and we'll show you images, how ATGM was shifted from one location to the other,
03:34very close to the enemy, in the line of fire.
03:37And you destroyed one of his biggest posts in this area where he was keeping an eye on you.
03:41Yes, that post consisted of high resolution cameras, the entire ISR grid was based on that post.
03:49And with the help of ATGM missiles fired from this very vehicle,
03:53we were able to destroy his complete ISR grid and completely blind him that night.
03:59And because of which, he was not able to bring down effective fire on us.
04:02This vehicle is being used extensively to move men and material restock to be able to give him a bloody nose once again, should it be required?
04:14Yes, Pakistanis, as you can say, they have utter disregard for the international border, utter disdain for the international border.
04:21And they were the first ones to open up unprovoked firing on us.
04:26And then we gave them a befitting reply.
04:28Heavy volume of fire was brought on them, and it forced them to vacate the post and run away.
04:32Made in India weapons were the game changer in this battle.
04:38Because when you are fighting an adversary like Pakistan, and there is another message here.
04:43The message is also for the adversary on the north.
04:47Made in India weapons that are battle tested.
04:50Made in India weapons that have proven their capability in this conflict.
04:55With cameraman Sanjay Kumar at the international border in the Jammu sector, Gaurav Savant for India Today.
