00:17My name's Dawson, I play guitar in Bury tomorrow and we are out here in North America doing

00:22a co-headline tour with While She Sleeps promoting our new record Will You Haunt Me With That

00:25Same Patience.

00:26We're going to give you a tour of our bus, our living quarters where we hang, just generally

00:32live our lives, our mundane, quiet English lives.

00:36So yeah, up in the driver's lounge, this is where our hero Chris does a lot of driving,

00:41thriving and ensuring that we're surviving at all times.

00:45He's got his goods up here, we've got a bag of voodoo donuts, I mean it'll be a miracle

00:49if they survive the next hour, we'll see, sorry Chris if I hit them in advance.

00:54And he loves to keep it clean here, I mean who doesn't?

00:57You need to be very aware of your surroundings and we've got to ensure that we are staying

01:03alive.

01:05And here we are in our living quarters where our drummer Adam sits in comfort and our guitarist

01:12Edward here lays with his D-puff eye.

01:18Ed does have a tendency to wear...

01:19I wish I could say that these were mine but they're not, they're actually our fearless

01:23leader Daniels, to keep his eyes high, infused with real petals.

01:32Ensuring that his eyes are on the crowd for every moshing moment during the set.

01:37We're watching something that does consist of a lot of swearing, I don't recognise what we're

01:41watching but can we contest that it's good?

01:44I think you should leave and it's fucking great.

01:47Well there we go.

01:48So two TVs, this one is begging for life at the moment, whereas this one gets a lot of

01:54the attention.

01:55Usually it seems that we have a wipeout channel, so yesterday we watched Irish wipeout, the UK

02:02one, the American one, the Canadian one, I don't know what's left to do.

02:06The cool thing is that we do actually have TV, it's not just wifi so it's like you can

02:11just flick through channels but there's like a fail blog channel which just plays fails

02:16like constantly which is mental to me.

02:19Yeah, the same with wipeout which is in the UK, wipeout as well.

02:22Yeah, wipeout was on for like 12 hours straight on that TV yesterday, it was insane.

02:27Yeah, and yesterday was a very dreary day in Columbus, Ohio so we made the most of, you

02:32know, just heartwarming, comforting, challenging TV.

02:36So, in general, we like to try and keep a handle on where we're putting things.

02:40So, we've got the protein bottles that live up here along with our Microwave, which does,

02:46that's not been getting a lot of attention this tour, now usually we're a very Hot Pocket

02:51style band, but not this time.

02:54It's all about the pro and the team.

02:56So, then we've got some protein items in here.

02:59I'm not too sure what's going on with all the Oreos.

03:02You know, we're trying to keep a healthy, healthy goings on here.

03:05So, as you can see, we've got a lot of isolate.

03:08We've got some creatine up in there.

03:11Everyone's trying to be good boys, apart from, I think this might be Nick's quarters down here.

03:16That guy loves a fucking donut hole.

03:19Coffee cups, which run out frequently.

03:24We've got more lids than we do cups.

03:26But we've got a lot of empties now, which we fly through coffee.

03:30And whilst in Canada, you've got to pick up the Timmy H.

03:33Shout out Timothy.

03:35And down here, we've got my personal stash.

03:38I did apologise as I needed a space.

03:40We like to keep things organised.

03:41So, what have I got in my stash?

03:43Well, a protein cereal.

03:46I've got some cheddar popcorn.

03:49And then I've got some protein powder here.

03:52Which, to be fair, I wish I read the macros before it.

03:55Because I might as well have three cookies as well.

03:57That's not the best.

03:59I picked up Bob Mould's new record.

04:01I got this at Records Per Minute in...

04:05I think it was yesterday.

04:07Columbus.

04:08Honestly, all the days blur into one.

04:10And then I got some Closmore records and some of these delicious bagel things.

04:15But, the main shout out has to go to my man David.

04:19You are saving my life on a daily basis.

04:22I can count on you David, for reliable macros, a satiating taste and obviously a complete feeling.

04:29Knowing that I'm full of your protein.

04:31So, thank you my man David.

04:34Alright, let's have a seat.

04:36So, we've got a couple of boot drawers.

04:40So, these belong to Nick, our lighting guy.

04:42These belong to our fearless leader, Daniel.

04:44These are handy though.

04:45Because in Europe, on European buses, in the lounges, you don't have any storage under the seats.

04:49So, we end up having stuff everywhere.

04:52Because it's a bit of a nightmare to put like personal stuff.

04:55But, this is really cool.

04:57In American buses, you have like under the seats.

05:00Loads of storage, so we get to keep our stuff out of the way.

05:04Yeah, we've just got options.

05:05Infinite options.

05:06And again, sparkling water, sugar free Red Bull, Doc Martins boots.

05:11You'd think we're a bunch of goths, wouldn't you?

05:14But we're not!

05:15Take a look in here.

05:17This bunch of frat boys that we think we are.

05:19We've got some 10% beers.

05:21Now, the thing is with America.

05:23We all like having a beer to unwind.

05:25But I do not want my head blowing off with a 10% beer as soon as I get off stage.

05:29Have a word with yourselves.

05:32So, we've got some Red Bull here.

05:35Because obviously, we're due to put on an energetic performance in Chicago tonight.

05:40And we also have Protein to keep us seated.

05:42As I did mention earlier.

05:44No David in the fridge though.

05:45David's chilled enough.

05:47In the freezer.

05:50The Hot Pockets belong to our guitar tech.

05:53He's a piece of shit and smells of meat.

05:56And he's not really a piece of shit, but he does smell of meat.

05:59And yeah, we've got some frozen fruit.

06:02I like to bang some of them in my yogurt.

06:04And that's pretty much all we've got going on for now.

06:07We need another Walmart stop.

06:09Here we've got the room in which we piss.

06:13And only piss.

06:15As, yeah, it smells so bad in here as well.

06:19It smells like nosebleed.

06:20Whatever disinfectant we've got going on, it's not the one.

06:23We do have a shower and we can use it, but we must not abuse it.

06:27As we don't want a leaky room.

06:29Dan did have a cold shower previously.

06:32He said he's challenging his inner Wim Hof.

06:35Usually, Jayden sits here quite often, I'd say, doesn't he?

06:37Jayden's our tour manager and he's doing all his fucking nerdy Excel shit here.

06:42Telling us how much merch we made.

06:44How close we are to being in the red every day.

06:50How much money we didn't make.

06:52Yeah, and all that shit.

06:54But yeah, people don't really fight over it, I don't think.

06:56Tom's usually got the back one, which you'll see in a minute, I'm sure.

07:01Here we go, we have a station at the back.

07:03A bit of a recording station.

07:04Yeah, luckily we've got two of these, which is cool.

07:06It's nice to just hang down here.

07:08I've caught up on some of my UFC here, just have a beer after the show,

07:12just chill out, have a bowl of popcorn, whatever.

07:14It's nice to know as well that we did tidy the bus quite substantially before you arrived.

07:20No, we didn't.

07:21It is usually quite a lot worse than it.

07:23It's not necessarily messy, but there's bags everywhere, obviously.

07:27Shoes.

07:28Yeah.

07:29To be fair, there is stories that we're not using, so I think it's just a case of when people,

07:35especially when everyone's on the bus, because right now a few people are in the venue and stuff,

07:38so it does get a bit crammed.

07:40American buses compared to UK buses are way better, in my opinion.

07:45Yes.

07:46This bit also opens out, so this bit, because you're in here, this extends from here,

07:51so you press a button in the front, and this opens up about this much wider.

07:55Yeah.

07:56With all this floor space, we can't open it today because we're on the road,

07:58so it goes onto the road and it's dangerous.

08:00Yeah, if we did, we'd get a car through the window, but that is what I was going to say too.

08:03It's worth noting that once we have more space, it just opens up for a lot more freedom,

08:09a lot more bravery, and we are in the USA, and that's what everyone needs more of.

08:14Yeah.

08:15So into the bunks.

08:16Let me show you my bunk.

08:18And the bed was made before you invade.

08:21I like to just keep, you know, daily essentials.

08:24I've got my toothbrush and some toothpaste, some sunglasses, wear them inside sometimes

08:29if I'm feeling like a rock star.

08:31You've got to put your name on everything, a bit of deodorant that I brought from Canada

08:34because I can't be doing with roll-on.

08:36This is what my wife calls a poo-boy bag.

08:39And in said poo-boy bag, I have my camcorder, which I like to film everything every day on,

08:45or most things.

08:46A charger should be very proud of me.

08:49And then of course, we are in Chicago, so I stopped by the Blackhawk store.

08:53Hopefully we have a better season.

08:56It's probably not going to happen here.

08:58But, you know, if you want proof that they did win the Stanley Cup six times,

09:01I got it on this cap.

09:03So yeah.

09:04God bless the Chicago Blackhawks.

09:08And God bless CM Punk while we're at it as well.

09:11So I've gone from the top this time because the function has been disabled,

09:15but the bunks, they shrink down.

09:19So essentially you could have two bunks, you could have three.

09:22The bottom one, I felt incredibly claustrophobic when I was aware of this mechanism,

09:26so I thought I'll go up top.

09:28And actually I am getting better sleep than I have on any tour ever.

09:32This is our guitar tech and stage manager,

09:35and general runs everything.

09:36Who smells from me?

09:37It's Chris.

09:38And he has some gel corn removers.

09:40He likes to snack on them before he goes to bed.

09:43We're a big comfort band, so obviously that's dirty,

09:46but we've got slides.

09:48We all like to lounge around here.

09:50Now in Europe this would usually be my bunk,

09:53but right now it's filled with Bucky's memorabilia by our tour manager, Jaden.

09:58That boy knows how to live.

10:00And then here we are in the back lounge.

10:02Howdy.

10:03Yo.

10:04Tom is forever working back here.

10:06He's got his perfect station here with some speakers.

10:09Writing a new album.

10:11So we're sorted there.

10:12We're out here promoting one.

10:16This is our bass player Dav,

10:18who you'll usually find back here working on his own projects as well.

10:21But this is pretty much a quiet working room,

10:25but in the evenings we tend to just loiter around.

10:33I've got my laptop in there and a few pairs of shoes,

10:35a few pairs of clean socks.

10:37Don't know what we've got going on here.

10:39Yeah, just some more clothes.

10:41And then in here is our general butt.

10:45Like, fuck it and chuck it.

10:49That's where all the big bags lives.

10:50We've got the backpacks in there,

10:51we've got some clothes hung up.

10:52Gym gear.

10:54And pretty much everything.

10:58I've been watching Shrek videos.

11:00It's just turned to a Tim Allen video,

11:02but other than that I was watching some Shrek videos,

11:05which is how I like to pass the time.

11:08This feels like a very cosy room,

11:09and it's nice when there's a few of us in here just chilling.

11:12John usually works here editing photos after the show as well.

11:15So, yeah.

11:16It's a nice little productive room.

11:18Nice and cosy.

11:21we've started writing for the next record now.

11:23KRK sorted us out with some little gorgs,

11:26which is sick.

11:29I want to try and steal them and take them back to the UK,

11:31but I don't know if I'm going to have enough space.

11:35I've got these Audis headphones,

11:36which are like the best things I've ever used.

11:38They're insane.

11:39They're the only headphones I've ever been able to mix on.

11:41And, yeah.

11:42And just messing about with some stuff in Logic at the minute

11:44to get some more tunes out so we can come back to America

11:48many more times.

11:50Cos, Lord knows, we love touring the States.
