00:00
So Celtic will get the second half going
00:04
and they will be looking for that opening goal that has certainly proved elusive so far,
00:15
sometimes it can be like this on the final day and of course St Mirren having something to play for too James.
00:21
Yeah absolutely, I think that Celtic in general, you know once they get that tempo right then they're very difficult to stop
00:28
but there's an element of patience there from Celtic as well, they're keeping the ball,
00:32
they're looking and probing trying to get that space, St Mirren that they've defended brilliantly,
00:36
their side centre backs have stepped out into the wide men of Celtic and they've done it very well,
00:40
the midfielders have tried to drop onto the full backs and stop Celtic as much as they can,
00:45
they've just denied Celtic real space but we know that Celtic will keep the ball,
00:50
they will be patient, they will wait for that opening and it's whether St Mirren can continue
00:54
to show the energy levels that they have and whether Celtic can up the tempo,
00:58
I'm pretty sure that would have been the message from Brendan Rodgers to try and generate a bit more tempo
01:03
in the game, move St Mirren about and try and force those openings.
01:08
Well Celtic do have James Forrest on the bench of course and Yang and Luke McCowan,
01:12
players who could well come on and make a difference if needed,
01:16
I'm sure we'll see James Forrest at some point.
01:18
Here is Dyson Miner and Bernardo, it's away by Gogic.
01:42
Greg Taylor.
01:48
Goon now for McGregor, Engles let it go, Jekyll and John tied it up.
02:06
St Mirren by the way requested a water break during the second half but both teams have to agree on that
02:15
and Celtic said no.
02:22
Coon.
02:24
That's gone up now.
02:28
Yeah, it just lets you know that Celtic want to go into the game.
02:31
That would mean that he has scored for Celtic in 16 seasons running, something last achieved by Paul McStay.
02:49
You could see him on Wednesday night how desperate it was to get that goal and everyone else as well.
02:54
It has been made into such a big thing, you need to remember.
03:02
He's going to be picking up the league title today as well.
03:06
He might get the last half hour maybe, we'll see.
03:09
Here's Adam Eder.
03:18
There goes Coon.
03:20
Trying to time his run here.
03:22
And he skips past Taylor.
03:25
And there's a few to choose from.
03:27
Coon might just do it himself, might not.
03:29
Nearly, nearly, nearly.
03:36
I mean it's great recovery from St Mirren to get back in but he's shot away, Nicholas Coon.
03:40
When he passes it to Bernardo, there's too many people round about him to try and get the shot away.
03:53
He's refusing to take the shot on.
03:58
And he's...
03:59
It looked like the best option, Maida in now, Taylor.
04:08
Pass into Ida and it's a good pass from Ida as well.
04:14
He's always going away from goal but as soon as...
04:22
So he can step on it and hit the shot first time.
04:25
But nobody able to step forward so far today.
04:44
He couldn't, could he?
04:45
When he comes on.
04:46
He comes on.
04:50
Maybe he's saving it for today.
04:52
To make it extra special.
04:53
He's in on the field.
04:55
Oh, the cup final.
04:57
Well, he does like to, he's scored and busted.
05:03
Great kick to St Mirren.
05:07
Sitting in a European position at the moment.
05:08
Tackle and John to send this in.
05:14
Kokic was in there.
05:16
And Iunger.
05:17
And it's found a way in.
05:19
Jonah and Iunger.
05:24
A final day twist.
05:26
As St Mirren take the lead.
05:28
And as it's...
05:30
Could be taking them back into Europe.
05:32
Oh, it's a massive goal.
05:34
You know, all the talk about Celtic up the tempo and James Forrest scoring goals.
05:39
St Mirren just reminding everyone that they've got a job to do here as well.
05:44
And they have been resolute defensively.
05:47
You know that the threat's going to come from set plays.
05:51
And it's a smart finish.
05:52
Iunger.
05:55
Good first touch.
05:57
Just to slot it.
06:01
Maybe, maybe a little deflection there.
06:04
Taking it beyond.
06:05
Kasper Schmeichel.
06:06
That sometimes can happen through the...
06:08
When you hit it through the bodies.
06:12
St Mirren just reminding everyone.
06:14
They're here to play as well.
06:17
Well, they took the lead on two visits here last season.
06:21
But lost.
06:22
But they've done so again now.
06:23
Through Jonah.
06:26
Iunger.
06:30
It might.
06:34
Steven Robertson once again has presided over.
06:40
Magnificent season.
06:41
Top six for the third year running.
06:44
Which last happened in the mid-1980s.
06:48
Well, you would expect it to wake Celtic up.
06:51
But you think that Zach Kemming was taking his time when they were defending a draw then.
07:02
Brendan Rodgers.
07:06
It's already...
07:07
...singling...
07:08
...for a triple change immediately.
07:11
It will be the three players I mentioned a moment ago who could make a difference.
07:20
James Forrest, Luke McCowan and Yang.
07:23
He's clearly making them a little bit earlier.
07:35
Unhappy with what he's seeing.
07:36
Allo, Bernardo.
07:44
Carlo Bernardo.
07:47
Nicholas Kuhn and Adam Ida will be the players to go off shortly.
07:52
Okay.
07:55
Taylor.
07:57
Maida.
07:58
Ingalls, Johnston, about to be replaced, Kuhn, about to be replaced, and those substitutions
08:22
are about to happen.
08:28
Nicholas Kuhn makes way for James Forrest, who's going to have a large chunk of this second
08:37
half to get that goal.
08:39
16 seasons in a row will today be the day for James Forrest, Carlo Bernardo, Adam Ida
08:48
also coming off, Luke McCowan who's had an excellent first season in a Celtic jersey coming on,
08:56
and Yang who's certainly made an impact at times as well, three players who certainly
09:02
could make an impact right now.
09:05
As you say, three players who have made an impact throughout the season, Yang who's come
09:12
out there for James Forrest.
09:13
Well it nearly happened for him in Aberdeen, well it happened for him today.
09:19
He's here and into it straight away.
09:26
He's here and into it straight away.
09:33
He's here and into it straight away.
09:34
He's here and into it straight away.
09:40
He's here and into it.
09:41
He's here and into it right now.
09:42
That's what he's done.
09:43
He's here and into it.
09:44
He's here and into it.
09:45
He's here and into it.
09:46
And that's what it is.
09:47
but he's given everyone a lift around here as well
10:04
but it's three players coming on that have a realistic shout at starting in the cup final as
10:13
well come and make it james forest did score in his first ever start for celtic here back in 2010
10:23
against st miran
10:26
coggage raging with david dickens in there referee will want a word
10:38
yeah i can understand why so one from neither but there's two of them going to kick the ball at the same time
10:47
engels taken quickly forest came off two st miran players and it will be a celtic corner
11:05
i'll tell you what the last touch from taylor could be crucial
11:08
quick corner celtic in the mood now mccowan found his route blocked by mandron forest
11:17
oh younga missed his kick stayed away by taylor
11:23
helped on its way by o'hara but there's a look about celtic now
11:30
yeah definitely
11:31
forrest once more johnston mcgregor
11:44
decent service but that one will go over the head of yang it will be retrieved by
11:56
correct taylor
11:57
young
11:59
mccowan
12:03
just out of reach for forest
12:07
yeah this
12:08
made a massive difference already it's a different type of ball from mccowan
12:14
forest has been at the heart of it since coming on
12:17
and yang you know when james forest goes down the right hand side that little cut to the back post
12:22
he's just done a little bit too early he holds his run
12:25
he's got a chance to go and put the ball in the back of the net but certainly had the desired effect so far for celtic
12:31
another goal at easter road and rangers are back in france their player of the year nico raskan
12:41
let's put them two one up
12:44
quite on the way to the uh 5-5 that it was on the final day there between those two new years ago
12:55
you
12:57
all right
12:57
you
13:00
you
13:06
you
13:08
you
13:12
Cameron Carter Vickers for Alistair Johnston, scales,
13:32
here's Yang, away by Declan John, just as Forrest looked like he might bounce,
13:51
Gregor, Taylor, Yang, Leiter trying to barge his way through,
14:02
Scales, Yang, Taylor, Forrest,
14:26
Forrest, Forrest at the heart of this, Taylor, Angles,
14:39
trying to get a corner off Halabiosu, but,
14:48
Forrest,
14:59
Forrest,
14:59
Yang,
15:12
McGregor,
15:17
looking for a way out,
15:24
and they're on the right side of the ball and around the box again, feel that the tempo is higher for them.
15:37
...
15:45
...
15:47
... against Aberdeen,
15:48
but,
15:51
Siberians still occupy the European place with their 1-0 lead here.
15:59
Let's say they'll be playing the twists and turns.
16:04
Scales want to stay down without reason.
16:07
That's a sore one there, for Snews.
16:21
So they're about to make a double change with Greg Kilton.
16:26
Roland Edewoo coming on.
16:37
And Boyd-Munt is one of the players who will go off.
16:50
As I say, Mirren, we're here.
16:53
Steven Robinson trips it around.
16:57
They will make those changes now.
17:00
Boyd-Munt's replaced by Kilti.
17:02
Roland Edewoo will come on for the goalscorer, Jona Ayunga.
17:24
Celtic just won defeat in their last 17 final day matches.
17:31
It was seven years ago that they're still here.
17:42
Andy Considine got the winner.
17:45
Celtic were already champions.
17:49
Didn't poop the party that much, but they would still dearly love to bow out
17:54
with a win here ahead of the Scottish Cup final and a possible treble.
18:02
Absolutely.
18:03
It's Mirren going to a 5-4-1 now.
18:05
Jona Ayunga coming off.
18:06
Trying to pack that midfield.
18:17
Carter Vickers says, I've got this under control.
18:19
Go on, McGregor.
18:28
He's on McGregor.
18:29
in this match so far that was in the fifth minute from Dyson minor here's Yang
18:47
McCowan Yang
18:49
it's a lovely cross off to Dyson minor
19:10
just keeps moving the ball inside the foot outside the foot then it goes for the byline
19:17
and no surprise when he gets to that position
19:22
he does in there early he should be scoring he's up early enough he sees it he has to
19:32
title this season about Dyson minor
