00:00The Warriors now enter the offseason, not with as much uncertainty as the Boston,
00:07because, again, the Steph injury is not going to, you know, supposed to linger.
00:13I do think there needs to be a conversation had a little bit on the Steph injury, though,
00:21in that I think people will spend time saying, well, if Steph didn't go down,
00:29then they would have won the series.
00:32I don't think that's a ridiculous opinion.
00:34I think it ignores the injury that Steph had and what it says about the state of the Warriors.
00:43Steph Curry's injury, a hamstring injury, more often than not, right,
00:51based on what we saw, you would think is, well, he had too much on his plate.
00:55But you think back to the series against the Rockets, 38 minutes a game in the series,
01:00and it would have been much higher, but, again, they just punted on game five,
01:04and he played 23 minutes.
01:05He went 42 in game six, which everyone thought they were going to win,
01:09and then had to go 46 in game seven.
01:12Again, they could have ended that series in five.
01:15They punted on the fifth game and ended up having to play seven,
01:18and Steph lasted 13 minutes against Minnesota.
01:21Here's why I think that's relevant.
01:25So often we would enter Lakers seasons, and people go, oh, come on,
01:31what are they going to stay healthy?
01:32A.D.
01:33You know how old LeBron is?
01:34We would do it all the time.
01:36We would never do it anywhere else it felt like.
01:39And my thing with the Warriors is when we enter next season,
01:41if we enter next season and their number one guy is Steph Curry,
01:45it's not that Steph Curry can't be a number one guy.
01:46It's that, can you trust Steph Curry to hold up?
01:52Because the reality on Golden State is since Kevin Durant left this team,
01:58they have the finals run, and it's incredible that that's real.
02:02But other than that, they've missed the playoffs three times,
02:07and they've not made the conference finals in any of the other seasons.
02:13So to me, J.Y., we know this organization wants to prioritize championships.
02:20I don't mind if they run it back.
02:23I just don't think there's any chance that if they do, it results in a championship.
02:28I think last year, or the beginning of the season,
02:31I think I told you that I thought their window was closed.
02:33And, you know, getting Jimmy Butler kind of, like, crack the window open a little bit,
02:40but there's just, like, that much of a crack in the window.
02:44Because to me, when you look at Golden State, it's, yes,
02:49I don't know if Steph can be your top player that carries you through an entire full season.
02:57I think Jimmy is great, but now people look at Jimmy Butler saying,
03:00is Jimmy really a thing?
03:03Or is it just, you know, that one run he had in Miami as an eight seed
03:05when he got all the way to the NBA Finals?
03:07I mean, I think that even came from his old teammate UD.
03:11But then you look at the other pieces, right?
03:15I was concerned going into the series about big man play.
03:18And that's not a knock on Draymond.
03:20It's affected Draymond, 6'7".
03:22And eventually, the dam was going to break.
03:24Just like we sat here, we said there was concern with the Lakers.
03:27With size, same thing Raiders obviously had again.
03:30But then you look at the other pieces.
03:35Pods had a good step-up spot.
03:36We understand.
03:37Moody still hasn't been the person that maybe we thought he was going to be.
03:41And then there's Kamingo.
03:44And I know this whole thing of, like, sit this guy down.
03:49He was looking off Steph Curry.
03:52Did you guys watch after Steph got hurt?
03:55Who was, I don't know, the only player that can get you a bucket?
03:59And Steve Kerr was sitting this guy on the bench for the majority of the second half of the season
04:04to prove a point instead of coaching the young man and making him better?
04:10See, to me, Golden State, to me, is a team that influx.
04:12And I look around the Western Conference the next couple of years,
04:16and I don't see a pathway where they're a top six team in the Western Conference.
04:22I don't see a pathway where they're a top six team in the Western Conference.
