USC Trojans Reciever Ja'Kobi Lane Evaluates Quarterback Chemistry
Transcript
00:00What your nuances are, and do you see a difference?
00:03I mean, honestly, personally, it's not a matter of where I like to put the ball.
00:07It's more of a wherever he feels comfortable putting the ball, I'll catch it.
00:10It's not like I need it to be any more specific.
00:13I think he knows that I'm going to run the route,
00:16and nine times out of ten, I'm going to be open.
00:18So that kind of thing, it's not more of like a learning where I like things.
00:22It's more of like just building that chemistry rather than trying to do certain things.
00:28Coach, you were playing a big part in your career.
00:31How much of an influence would you say he's just been,
00:33or how much has he helped you over the course of the time that you've been here since?
00:36Yeah, I'd say he's helped me tenfold, be a better man on and off the field,
00:42learning different coverages.
00:44Coach Heward's a great coach.
00:45I don't think I would be here without him.
00:50How much of your relationship with Lincoln?
00:52How has that just evolved over time?
00:55Yeah, I mean, kind of like Coach Heward,
00:57been talking to me since high school,
01:00so we've known each other for a pretty long time.
01:02But I think over time, like any of your friends,
01:05you build a relationship with them.
01:06It's just a matter of like how serious you're willing to take that relationship
01:10and how open you're being to learning new things.
01:12So I think we have a pretty good relationship.
01:16He is my coach.
01:16As a more established guy now, what's this offseason been like for you?
01:22I mean, I don't think it was anything like majorly different.
01:26I think I just took it for what it was, and I ran routes,
01:30and I lifted this offseason, and I got better,
01:32and I'll plan on doing that next offseason.
