00:00What is the role of a Filipino movie?
00:07For the actors, for the industry and leaders, how are we?
00:13And where is it when we are coming to the movie?
00:18Of course, there are challenges.
00:24It's not part of what we have done like developed countries.
00:30So, global, yes.
00:31Global, yeah.
00:42when everything is already online,
00:46then suddenly we become global actors and actresses.
00:55Pero despite all these challenges and even the opportunities,
01:00I think one thing is for sure,
01:10Especially if given the right platform,
01:13if given the right tools,
01:15I am very confident na uusbong talaga
01:18at talagang mas magboblosom ba ang ating industry
01:26at lalong-lalo na yung artista ng Pilipino.
01:28Nasaan tayo, Charo?
01:30Charo?
01:33Charo Padreirao
01:34Very challenged.
01:35The industry is very challenged.
01:38Yun nga, with the shift to the digital platform,
01:44even the theatrical screens, no?
01:46The malls now are cutting back on the number of theatres,
01:53admission prices have gone up.
01:55We're one of the most heavily taxed industry.
02:00I can't get into politics.
02:05I think the entertainment industry, I hope the government will see the entertainment industry as a real industry.
02:13We're not here just to entertain people.
02:16We're here to make a living and to make a statement for the great artists, the great Filipino artists.
02:29So, and I think we deserve that recognition from government.
02:35Yun talaga, napakahirap gumawa ng pelikula ngayon.
02:41Producers are so discouraged, sometimes disenchanted with how things are.
02:47Pero yun na nga, we just have to keep going.
02:49I think collaboration is key now.
02:53Kaya kami, di ba?
02:54We represent the picture of collaboration.
03:00Yeah, because kailangan manatiling buhay eh.
03:05Because telling stories is part of the human experience.
03:10Mawala ng lahat.
03:11You want to hear stories.
03:13You want to hear stories.
03:14And that's how you connect with people.
03:15Even if it's in short form, di ba?
03:18Nag-tiktok tayo, boy.
03:20May kwento tayo.
03:22Di ba?
03:23Nag-enjoy tayo.
03:24Yun ganun.
03:25Even in short form, may kwento.
03:27So yung kwento hindi nawawala.
03:28So sana talaga, sorry talagang tulong, tulong ng powers that be from government.
03:38We need that support.
03:39But I'm very happy that the leaders of the industry, FDCP, FAP, kahit si Ding Dong, as president of Actoria, they're quite active and they're very immersed with the conditions, the current conditions.
03:54And with small steps naman, di ba, na-address, maraming na-address.
04:00But we really have to get together as an industry.
04:03We have to unite.
04:04We have to, um, um, you know.
04:08Yeah.
04:08You have to be one.
04:09We have to be one.
04:10We have to support.
04:11We have to continue to support each other.
04:18We need a business support.
04:20And, you know, that very mindset that Charles is trying to say.
04:22Na, uh, this whole misconception na soft, alam mo, as an industry, we are a serious industry.
04:31Kung siseryosohin pagkakakitaan, this is good business.
04:34The way, for example, South Korea has approached, you know, the entertainment industry.
04:45We should collaborate.
04:46We should be together.
04:47This cannot be done by just one.
04:50Di ba?
04:50Uh, that's why films like Only We Know, uh, happen.
04:55And congratulations.
