00:07Then Cape Wickham and Ocean Dunes emerged on King Island.
00:11Now a new player has arrived.
00:13Seven Mile Golf, the brainchild of Tasmanian pro Matt Goggin.
00:18This was his dream to have a golf course out at the end of Seven Mile Beach
00:21and it's finally become a reality.
00:24Plans were initially knocked back ten years ago

00:32I haven't found an unhappy golfer yet, so I think everybody here has had a great time.
00:37There's still no clubhouse and some holes remain under construction

01:00Plans also to lure the Australian Open to Tasmania.
01:05So Matt Goggin, the owner, his fantasy is that it does come down here
01:11and it's certainly a course that could hold those players.

01:17We know that Seven Mile Beach is aiming high.
01:20It's aiming for the top ten courses in the world.
01:22So it's going to get global recognition when they get there and I'm sure they will.
01:27The Seven Mile Beach store is busy during summer but not so during winter.
01:32That's likely to change.
01:34We are expecting a lot more tourists here so it could be a positive impact for us.
01:40There's planning approval too for a second course to be built just next door.
01:44That's set to open in about three years time.
01:47But for now, golfers will have to make do with teeing off from right here.
01:52Today's sneak peek part of a three day preview.
