00:00I don't want to say that Justin Bieber was watching Fox last night.
00:03I thought of the same thing.
00:05When our documentary, TMZ Investigates What Happened to Justin Bieber,
00:11aired last night on Fox and is now streaming on Hulu.
00:14But it is interesting that early this morning he decided to post images of himself
00:20with a bong, a very sizable bong.
00:26We told you, look, he's been over in Iceland working on music.
00:30And has frequently been seen with marijuana, either vape pens or in this case a bong.
00:38And the only thing, what's interesting about that, because we got into this in the documentary,
00:42is how Haley feels about his drug use and that she has not been the biggest fan of it.
00:52But, look, you know, he clearly wants to make a point that this is,
00:57I think artists, especially hip-hop artists and sometimes pop artists,
01:02are like, look, this is part of the creative process for us.
01:05Yeah, and I mean, ultimately, you know, a bong is not like cocaine or anything like that.
01:11Absolutely.
01:11But, you know, when we got into this documentary, all roads started to lead to money.
01:18And I got to tell you, it was really stunning to me.
01:21Justin Bieber's made between half a billion and a billion dollars.
01:25And when he sold his music catalog, he was broke, broke.
01:34And this is just kind of a part of what we uncovered, you know,
01:39by talking to a slew of people for this documentary.
01:43Justin Haley and Michael Rhodes...
01:46His attorney.
01:47...went to Scooter and said, we've got to sell this catalog.
01:51Scooter said no.
01:53And finally, when Scooter realized they were going to sell it,
01:56this was in December, Scooter said, at least wait until January
01:59because you'll get a tax break if you wait until January.
02:02And Justin said, I've got to sell it now.
02:04And he sold it in December.
02:06That's how broke he was.
02:07But, you know, how on earth do you blow through a billion bucks?
02:12So we should just say the catalog is the music catalog
02:15that Justin sold for $200 million.
02:18He sold it because he didn't have any money.
02:22He needed to sell it.
02:24And the money created the conflict between Justin and his manager, Scooter Braun,
02:29that ended that relationship.
02:32And then what we found was how the church that he's in has been influencing him.
02:38Yeah, so in the documentary, we just really uncovered just everything
02:42that's been going on in Justin's life.
02:44Obviously, you know, anyone that's been seeing Justin's social media has been a little bit alarmed
02:49with, like, the Coachella videos of him looking thinner and, you know,
02:52him popping off on the paparazzi.
02:54And we've kind of got to the bottom in this documentary about what's been going on in his life.
02:58And, you know, with all the people online being concerned about Justin,
03:04Haley actually posted on social media yesterday a very cryptic quote.
03:08And I'm curious what you guys think she meant by this.
03:10So she posted a quote saying, cry me a river and build me a bridge and get over it.
03:17Almost sounds like maybe she doesn't think it's as bad as people think it is,
03:24but just kind of an interesting reaction.
03:26You could take that any way.
03:28It could be directed at Justin or it could be directed at people who are criticizing them.
03:34I don't, you know, I don't know.
03:36I think that was the point.
03:37She wanted it to be that cryptic, so you can't figure it out.
03:40So, you know, we get into Justin's relationship with the church.
03:44It's just a really interesting thing because he really has isolated himself from all the people who were in his life.
03:49And he is so in the middle of the church.
03:52And that is really his life, you know, along, obviously, with his family.
03:56Right.
03:56So you can watch this.
03:58We cover mental health.
03:59We cover drugs.
04:00We cover marriage, money, his career.
04:05And it's all TMZ Investigates What Happened to Justin Bieber, which is streaming now on Hulu.
04:09Hey, it's Melissa from Washington.
04:12You know what?
04:13Everyone's got a lifestyle to live.
04:15And unfortunately, things didn't work out exactly like he planned, but he's still, like, one of the most iconic pop stars.
04:24And he has, like I said, a lifestyle.
04:26So as, like, an entrepreneur myself, if I was running low on cash, I'd have to sell something, too.
04:31I'm really sorry that he had to do that.
04:33But I wish him the best because he's freaking awesome.
