00:03recognition? Without objection, the gentlewoman is recognized for one minute.
00:12Mr. Speaker, I rise today with grave concern about the threat that the Trump
00:18administration poses to Social Security. In February, Elon Musk called the
00:24program, the biggest Ponzi scheme of all times. Then, a few weeks later, he referred
00:31to Social Security as the big one to eliminate. These are not empty comments.
00:36They are real threats. Under this administration, we're seeing mass firings
00:42at Social Security offices, hour-long wait times, delayed checks, websites crashing,
00:48and field offices closing. My district office in Raleigh, North Carolina, has
00:54received panicked calls from seniors whose checks didn't arrive on time for the
00:59first time ever. Seniors' benefits are under attack, and Donald Trump is to blame.
01:06We will not be silent while Trump and his cronies try to slash the benefits that our
01:11seniors have earned over a lifetime of hard work. Thank you, Mr. Speaker, and I yield back.
