00:00a disturbing incident occurred earlier today in Lagos as fire broke out at the

00:13General Hospital in Ifakoi Jai engulfing part of the three-story building the

00:21blaze which started in the early hours of Thursday sent panic through the

00:26hospital premises as thick smoke was seen bellowing from the structure. Eyewitnesses

00:32say the fire spread quickly prompting fears that some patients particularly

00:37babies and nursing mothers might have been trapped inside. At the time of this

00:42report there is no official confirmation of any casualties or injuries.

00:50Emergency responders including officials of the Lagos State fire and rescue service arrived at

00:59the scene shortly after the alarm was raised. They battled the flames and worked to secure the
