00:00We appreciate your visit as well as the goodwill you have expressed regarding relations with
00:09the UAE since taking office.
00:18Mr. President, for over 50 years, the UAE and the United States have shared
00:29a multidimensional strategic partnership and a longstanding friendship grounded in a shared
00:38commitment to advancing prosperity and stability in our countries, the region, and the world.
00:50Over the decades, the UAE has been a trusted partner of the United States, both in terms
00:57of bilateral relations, and in matters of shared concern.
01:05We are keen to continue deepening this friendship for the benefit of both our nations and peoples.
01:17Your presence here today, Mr. President, affirms that this commitment is mutual.
01:22Diplomatic relations between our two nations was established in 1971.
01:31But the connection between our peoples goes back further.
01:39Two doctors who came as missionaries from the church in California.
01:46Have their names etched in the collective memory of the UAE.
01:55They are Pat and Marian Kennedy.
02:00They arrived in a lane in late 50s, working under challenging conditions.
02:14At a time when up to one in two infants, and in four and one in four mothers died during childbirth.
02:35They founded Oasis Hospital, which played a pivotal role in the development of health care in the UAE.
02:51A few months after their arrival, Mr. President, I was born in the same hospital that these two American doctors have been.
03:03In recognition of their contributions, they were awarded the Abu Dhabi Award in its first edition in 2005.
03:21And in 2019, the hospital was renamed Canada Hospital in their order.
03:31And their family was hosted in Abu Dhabi in gratitude for their service to the people of the UAE.
03:46Mr. President, the UAE and the United States share a strong development-focused partnership.
03:59This partnership has taken a significant leap forward since you assumed office,
04:11particularly in the areas of the new economy, energy, technology, artificial intelligence, and industry.
04:23A testament to this is the UAE's plan to invest in the U.S. in these sectors through the UAE's investment budget
04:41at a total value of $1.4 trillion over the next 10 years.
04:47Additionally, major partnerships and projects are underway between private sector entities in both nations.
05:05Beyond these areas, our countries maintain a strategic partnership in the field of space exploration and the astronaut program and the asteroid belt mission.
05:28In this context, I would like to share something that may not be widely known.
05:37The American spacecraft Apollo 17 that flew in 1973 has carried the UAE flag on its journey to the moon.
05:51That same flag was later sent by NASA to our nation's founding father, the late Sheikh Zayed Mazotan al-Nahiyan in 1973,
06:02along with a fragment of lunar rock.
06:06Sheikh Zayed Mazotan al-Nahiyan in
06:30The United States have long been partners and offers to bring peace and security to the Middle East and the world.
06:39Today, I reaffirm to you that the UAE remains committed to working with the United States
06:51to advance peace and stability in our region and globally.
07:00Once again, Mr. President, I warmly welcome you and I'm confident that this visit will have a profound and positive impact on the future of our bilateral relations.
07:24Well, I'd like to thank you, Your Highness.
07:31What a lot of people don't know, I think my staff is very surprised by it.
07:37You and I have been friends for a long time.
07:39We've been good friends.
07:41And what they don't know about you is that you are considered a truly great warrior and you've been through the wars.
07:48You're a great warrior, a very strong man, a brilliant man, a man of vision like few others, like few others, and highly respected.
07:58When they know you, there's tremendous respect and you're so respected in the Middle East.
08:05It's really amazing.
08:07You know, we've done the tour with two of your very good friends.
08:11You know that.
08:12And we were talking about you and I won't tell you everything they said, but I can say it was all good.
08:19It was all good.
08:21Total admiration and respect for what you've done and who you are.
08:27And they said, when he gives you a handshake, when he makes a deal, that's the deal.
08:33And your wonderful brother came to Washington a few weeks ago and he told us about your generous statement as to the 1.4 trillion.
08:45And all I could say is thank you very much.
08:48We will work very hard to deserve it.
08:52I have absolutely no doubt that the relationship will only get bigger and better.
08:59Your relationship and mine can't get better, so I can't say it's going to get better because it's at the highest level it can be.
09:05But our countries will work together.
09:09We've become a very hot country.
09:12We were not such a hot country six months ago.
09:15And now I think we're the hottest country, if you want to know the truth.
09:19We had one little indication.
09:22A year ago, we were having a hard time getting people to join the military enlistment, they call it, in our country.
09:28We were getting very bad vibes, very unhappy.
09:33It was an unhappy country.
09:35A lot of foolish things were happening, stupid things were happening.
09:39And we just got, Pete, we just got the numbers.
09:42We had the highest enlistment numbers, just about that we've ever had.
09:46We think it's probably the highest, but they say we have to be extremely accurate when it comes to the news because they check every word I say.
09:56There's a little bit of an inaccuracy, but I will tell you we had just about the best numbers for enlistment we've ever had.
10:04Every one of our services.
10:06I'm very proud of Space Force, because I created Space Force.
10:09That was my baby.
10:10Hadn't been done in 78 years, a force, a new force.
10:14And it's doing phenomenally well.
10:16We were not winning the space war, and now we're leading it by tremendous margins over Russia and China, primarily.
10:25And so we're very proud of it, but I'm very proud of maybe even more so the enlistment numbers.
10:30So we went from having a hard time getting people to join our armed forces and our police, by the way, to having the best numbers that we've ever had wanting to join.
10:41They're proud of our country again.
10:43That's a big thing, and to happen so fast, over about a six- or seven-month period, that's a big honor.
10:49And likewise, the police, very hard to get police, and now the ranks are bursting and with pride.
10:57So that's something that we're very happy about.
11:00We've had investments in our country over the last three months, but really two months, because it took me a couple of weeks to get started.
11:09Well, I had to get a little acclimated again, because we had a very successful first term, as you know.
11:15We had one of the most successful economies in the history of our country.
11:20The first term was amazing.
11:22We did a lot of things.
11:23We rebuilt our military.
11:24We did a lot of great things.
11:26And I think this is even going to be better, but we have now, I think, substantially over $10 trillion of investment.
11:36And now when they add the $1.4 trillion, we easily break that number.
11:43So that's investment or investment that we think will soon happen.
11:48And it doesn't include people that are building, because not everybody comes and tells us that they're building, and it's a big country.
11:54We're having numbers that we've never done before, and that means AI plants.
12:01That means, you know, as an example, a really good example is Apple.
12:06Apple is now spending much more than $500 billion on plants.
12:12They didn't do that before.
12:14As you know, they built their plants in another location.
12:17We have the biggest computer company, $500 billion.
12:24We have Mr. Wei of Taiwan is spending $200 billion.
12:29Jensen is great.
12:31Jensen Wang is spending $500 billion.
12:36We have numbers that nobody's ever seen before.
12:39That all means jobs, because to me the most important jobs, I want jobs.
12:43And we have costs are way down.
12:47Groceries are way, they have a term grocery.
12:49It's an old term, but it means basically what you're buying, food.
12:53It's a pretty accurate term, but it's an old-fashioned sound.
12:56But groceries are down, costs are down, eggs are down.
12:59The first week they were hitting me with eggs were up 200%.
13:04And now they're down to a number that is amazing.
13:08We're down 97%, 98% from where they were.
13:12And everybody, they said, you won't have eggs for Easter.
13:16Well, everybody had eggs for Easter at a very reasonable price.
13:20At the White House, we had a little Easter egg roll,
13:23and we had hundreds of thousands of eggs purchased.
13:26They said, you have to go out and buy plastic eggs.
13:29That didn't work out.
13:30So we've done a real job, and our energy costs are way down.
13:33The energy is way down, gasoline is down, and we have almost no inflation.
13:38So we've got the economy back.
13:41We've got a border now that's very powerful, 99.9%.
13:46And nobody would have believed that was possible.
13:49It was a real mess.
13:50And we had, frankly, an incompetent previous administration.
13:54I know you weren't thrilled with them.
13:57They abandoned people.
13:58And it wasn't that they abandoned.
14:00They didn't bother to call people back.
14:02They treated people with great disrespect.
14:05But part of it was a level of stupidity that we've never seen before.
14:09And I'm glad we arrived.
14:12And I know people also woo you.
14:14You're an amazing country.
14:16You're a rich country.
14:17You can have your choice.
14:18But I know you'll never leave my side.
14:21I know that.
14:23And you know the special relationship that we have and our country has.
14:27So our country is back with you.
14:30And our country is back in a lot of ways.
14:32We have a country with tremendous spirit right now.
14:34Tremendous.
14:35I haven't seen anything like it.
14:36I would say this.
14:37We're far ahead of schedule.
14:39If you would have told me these numbers in a year, a year and a half from now, I would
14:43have been very happy with them.
14:45But think that substantially more than $10 trillion, you'll have numbers of other presidents
14:55where they won't do a trillion dollars in many, many in a long time.
14:59One trillion dollars.
15:00We did it in two months because, again, you figure three.
15:04But let me have one month of fixing up the Oval Office.
15:08In other words, getting things ready.
15:10And I look forward to having you in the White House.
15:14We'll celebrate together.
15:16But we are going to be your friend and we're going to be your partner.
15:19And we really appreciate your confidence and an investment.
15:23That's your biggest investment that you've ever made.
15:25And we really appreciate it.
15:27And we're going to treat you very, as you should be, magnificently.
15:32And you're a magnificent man.
15:34And it's an honor to be with you.
15:37My honor, Mr. President.
15:38Thank you very much.
15:39Thank you very much.
15:40Thank you, sir.
15:41Thank you very much, sir.
15:46Mr. President.
15:47Your Highness, Your Excellencies, distinguished guests, in recognition of President Donald Trump's exceptional efforts to strengthen the long-standing ties of friendship and strategic partnership between the United Arab Emirates and United States of America, I am honored to announce that His Highness, Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed al-Nayan, bestows the order of Zayed upon President Trump.
16:15President Trump.
17:15Excuse me, everyone, please.
