00:00My name is Javed Malek and I've been living in the UAE for more than 20 years now, having moved here from London.

00:05Dubai and the UAE have played a very important and a central role in almost every aspect of my life,

00:11whether in business, in my profession or indeed even in my personal life.

00:15My family and I have been in business in Dubai for a number of years,

00:18like many other people who choose Dubai because of its excellent infrastructure, the global connectivity,

00:24the wonderful opportunities that this country offers, the safety, the security,

00:28thanks to the visionary and the dynamic leadership of UAE.

00:31In addition to my business, my media career, which started in London, really took off when I moved to Dubai

00:37and joined Pakistan's largest news channel.

00:40We were beaming out of Dubai Media City, connecting to the entire world, giving us a very global platform from the UAE.

00:47When I had the opportunity of serving as Pakistan's ambassador for almost a decade,

00:53a lot of my initiatives and diplomatic initiatives were also in the Gulf region.

00:58So UAE and Dubai have been very central to almost all aspects of my life.

01:03I got married here, started my family here, met some wonderful people who are friends that became family.

01:09In addition to my business and other initiatives, a project which is very close to my heart is the Diplomat Business Club,

01:15which in a way is a reflection of the global connectivity this country offers.

01:20It also combines my experience as a business person and a diplomat,

01:23and we create opportunities for other people, businessmen, investors, entrepreneurs, innovators, futurists,

01:30thought leaders to connect and explore opportunities to grow together.

01:34Dubai and the UAE are the city and the country of the future.

01:38If you want to grow and you want to thrive and you want to excel in your chosen fields, you have to be in the UAE.
