Tamil Nadu: 20 injured after sewage tank exploded in Cuddalore

Cuddalore (TN), May 15, 2025 (ANI): At least 20 people were injured after a sewage tank exploded at a factory in Kudikadu area near Mudhunagar in Tamil Nadu's Cuddalore on May 14.  Water from the tank leaked out and entered nearby houses, damaging residential structures in the village. 00:30Today, early morning, around 3 o'clock, one of the dying unit in Shipkat had some boiler

00:50explosion. In that 2.5 lakhs liters capacity tank was broken down. In that lot of hot water

01:05is spread over some residential area of Karikadu. In that nearly four or five houses were damaged

01:16and around 25 people got some very minor injury. They are admitted in Kadalur GH. So, there

01:25is no major damages or house or life. There is no life damage in this incident. So, district

01:35authority, district collector and myself visited this spot and we are assessing the situation.

01:42We are talking to the local people and the company side also. All precaution measures

01:48are taken. Immediately, medical teams are arrived at that village. There are 24 hours there giving

01:55treatment to the small level affected the people also. We are taking the situation. We are monitoring

02:03this situation.
