Cat Loves Being Pushed In Sled By His Mom

His handmaid hats with ears. In this week's episode of Ultimate Pet Routine, Heidi pulls The Dodo along on a wintry sleigh ride with her cat Fitz!

00:00I never thought I'd meet a cat who would enjoy winter adventures as much as I do.

00:07I'm Heidi and the dodo asked me to share my cat Fitz's ultimate pet routine, sleigh riding.

00:14We live in Canada and go out adventuring in some pretty cold temperatures so keeping

00:19Fitz warm and cozy during his sleigh rides is very important to me. He wears little boots,

00:24a jacket and sometimes even goggles. His handmade knit hats keep his ears warm. The ears of his hat

00:36were accidentally knit a little too high but people love his bat cat ears so much he has kind of become

00:42a style icon now. Is it a little snowy? One of my fondest memories as a young girl was being pulled

00:49around in a sled by my father in the quietness of the evening. I wanted to try and create a similar

00:54peaceful experience for Fitz. So I made him his own homemade cat sleigh using a wooden box and a

01:01vintage set of children's skis. Fitz feels the safest in enclosed spaces and the very first time we tried

01:07it he stayed put and didn't meow or fuss at all. Fitz usually hangs over the side of his sleigh. It's

01:13one of his ways of showing me he is relaxed and calm. When Fitz was just 10 weeks old I wrapped him in a

01:18blanket and put him in a shoulder pouch and we hiked. Slowly he became braver and started walking the

01:25hiking trails with me off leash. Oh hello!

01:34And has now made the sleigh his safe space as well and on Fridays we are joined by Fitz's canine friend

01:40Fitz. Getting to share these experiences with a cat is amazing.

01:50The outdoor adventures we have not only have a positive impact on my mental health but also on Fitz's.
