00:52over the last week of sort of being involved uh as a warrior fan as a member of the media
00:59listening to what i'm hearing people say which is kind of start coming down the road of players
01:06who are being asked to do more than what they're normally asked to do doesn't mean they shouldn't
01:10try doesn't mean they shouldn't be professional but i have a hard time listening to so many warriors
01:15get ripped for not turning into 15 point per game players when we know damn well they're not 15
01:22point per game players so let's talk it out and see where all you are at mike and hayward on willard

01:34i agree with him totally i think that you look at everything that steph curry does you see how great
01:40he is because he also has all those qualities that the rest of them as a team cannot provide at the
01:46same time so every little thing that he does has to be brought out and everybody else so and then he
01:52didn't and then so they're not used to that right and so it gets a little difficult if everything
01:57depends on the spacing the shooting the passing the offense they run the matches they run it's all
02:03based on steph curry floor so now steph curry's not on the floor and kim's right so they don't
02:09have a park point guard like melvin the guy that got from philadelphia who i think would have stayed
02:14healthy would have been really really good for steph but they had and they had to rebuild a couple
02:18of times during the season right really can't blame the team i think i think they've done an
02:22outstanding job the ownership and coaching this year because i mean look what all they had to go through
02:26you know i mean in minnesota they had hardly no injuries right so i mean i don't think they're a
02:31better team they're a better team now i don't think they're a better team with steph and all the things
02:36that he brings uh even even at man he don't bring a lot of stuff to him but individual play
02:42he really don't bring a lot that much more than steph does so you know so you really talk about
02:47the greatness of steph curry what he does impact he has on all the other players and the team
02:52so now everybody gets to see so so now you know you kind of can look at kind of see well what do we
02:58need next year well i think the man just got to go because they got to get a big man that can
03:02you know protect the pay and they block shout it and draymond's greenroll that's straight
03:07they he can't do the camp they can't use him as they use him he can't shoot
03:10so you know so in this position it doesn't look guys are doing the best they can like i said
03:15there are third string players that have come out of good games and able to be proper able to get
03:21motivated by curry and butler the motivation factor and the spacing and the open shots they've been
03:27getting with those guys out there that's why that's why they can't possibly win this series and
03:32win three games straight i mean it could maybe win one but come on the brewery fans are the most
03:37ungrateful people i ever heard in my life they never know you know they i mean like everybody
03:43i bet come on let's be like they are so spoiled about steph curry is spoiled the whole wide or
03:48the whole bay area about his play and the impact of no other player has had that much impact in years

04:04what you've gotten over the last 10 or 11 or 12 years has been beyond special it's been

04:17is view the players and if you want to throw in the coaches the executives view them through the

04:44steph and and and then we all go to the numbers and we go oh well this is what they've done without

04:54to jimmy butler they built themselves on the fly in the the the first week of february they played
05:01amazing basketball but they have done that without steph very little which means no continuity and no
05:10evidence really that they can even do that well they i like i'm trying to remember since jimmy you know
05:16i brought up the one where they beat yannis and the bucks outside of that have they won any other
05:21games without steph curry since jimmy arrived like this group had they don't even know who the hell

06:59get easier more tools yeah i mean it's a good idea it's possible but i if you're minnesota then
07:05you probably don't even put go bear on quinn post you put somebody else on him and quinn post is not
07:10going to hurt you down low and if i'm minnesota i'd probably even go to some zone if that's going to
07:15be the case because you're going to keep rudy go bear close to the basket at every possible chance
07:21you can if you're minnesota no but i understand where he's coming from in terms of spacing the spacing
07:25right now is the issue you know you start like asking well why is brandon podjemski shooting
07:30floaters why is this guy shooting that shot because shots are really hard to find because
07:35the spacing is all messed up because steph's not there and there hasn't been too many other guys
07:40who have been able to knock down open threes and post can do that if you want post on the floor to me
07:45there's one thing and one thing only you got to look at can he not be a turnstile on the other
07:50boy and he has been can you not just completely just fall off the map on the other end of the
07:57floor if you can kind of guard someone if you can stop fouling if you cannot be a turnstile
08:02then there's probably room for him on the court and and if he could knock down a couple of threes i
08:07do think it would change the structure on the offensive side of the ball a little bit and you
08:11know defensively like you said that's the one thing that he has been unable to do in this series which
08:15is why he's been mostly unplayable as he's just getting blown by and the matchups don't really
08:21work for him and quentin post even if he's in there going up against nas reed that's a tough cover hit
08:25for him as well and for sure pat spencer 10 minutes in game one he did get in there and get four points

08:51had two huge efforts to get back into series okay two huge efforts a team can do but uh minnesota has

09:27from that uh what happens from for a young team especially from the fans the juice you all saw the
09:33way that game started and it was just over it was over immediately the warriors don't have that tonight
09:39instead they're going up against an arena that thinks that they've all bought tickets to see a
09:45funeral like they're like they are going to be so excited to to knock draymond green out of the

10:36warriors didn't even really go for it in game five which made you come home for game six which you you
10:42went for it and you didn't win that one then you had to go back to houston again you had to exert a lot
10:47just to get through the seven games and yeah it's going to be a lot easier for minnesota having this game
10:53five up three one at home if the warriors don't win tonight i like it's it's it's too difficult in my
11:00mind to grab a sharpie and start pointing to to specific things you certainly can but the the game
11:07six and we said it we were there yep we're like they gotta win tonight or else they're in trouble i
11:14don't know when the trouble comes i don't know how the trouble comes but i don't like where that leaves
11:20you and and the first thought was well you're probably going to lose game seven well they didn't
11:25do that but the thought was even if they don't lose game seven if they win game seven you got 48
11:31hours to get on a plane and go to minnesota and that's not going to go well but then they went to
11:35minnesota they won the damn game won the damn game but they lost steph curry right and can you draw
11:42the injury directly to those extra games i mean you can i i you also can say there's and and the facts
11:50are you'll never know but the bottom line is is it left them in a bad spot and and here they are
11:57and i still i will forever remember that basketball game and the fact that the warriors they didn't just
12:04lose it they were just outplayed from beginning to end game six you're talking game six here against
12:10the rockets i think for me if you want to use the word like what's been disappointing people are
12:17pointing to jimmy butler you're not playoff butler and pods can't hit a shot moody what's been
12:23disappointing that game that game that game it it messed a lot of things up it did not set them up
12:33for success no i can't i'm still surprised at how how thoroughly they were outplayed well just it all
12:41happened toward the end too i'm looking at the game log right now and they're down four with nine and a
12:45a half to go and they they were down almost the whole game by four to ten and they just they
12:50finally surged and got it to four and then houston just basically patted them on the head and next
12:55thing you know they're up by 17 and it was like oh man it was over because that was the moment where
13:00they got back in it in the fourth and you thought okay home team close it out game six let's go
13:05and steph curry could not score in the fourth quarter and and you know draymond after the game
13:10pointed to the first play of the fourth quarter they had cut it to two and then they had a
13:15defensive breakdown and led fred van bleep by himself for a three and that was when fred was
13:20hitting everything and then they fouled him also and that made a four point play six point game they
13:25get a a turnover and a score it's an eight point game and you're right they did cut it back to four
13:30but it was like they just never went uphill and never emotionally recovered they were never the
13:35aggressor in that game and and i will forever be surprised by that uh let's go to will in the east

14:07all right the one consistent on this team since we got jimmy was the defense offense good but when
14:14you're missing the pied piper of basketball and you don't have two or three guys following hurry around
14:20you're not going to have those open lanes you're not going to have those open shots outside my point
14:25being you've got to throw the dogs on defense at these guys and when i mean throw the dogs i'm talking
14:30about getting right up on these guys at the risk of fouling okay you know you make a good play you
14:37get an outlet pass or maybe a defensive foul whatever if a guy fouls out next man up off the bench get
14:45right up on that guy you know and it's the one thing that they've been really good at is defense well
14:50why don't we ramp that up a little bit you know and throw a monkey branch into their uh into their um
14:57routine that way that i would love to see that happen because i think it might pay off it would
15:03give them a chance you know that these guys not throwing up you know these bricks that you could
15:09build a freaking chimney with okay you know pods and buddy you know and dream on when he gets the
15:15ball and he decides to throw up a brick when he could just he had a free lane into the uh for us
15:20easy bucket easy layup i mean you know i think there is a chance here but i want to see him
15:26ramp up that defense well thanks i mean it's easier said than done of course when you don't
15:32have anybody who can guard anthony edwards for example you know my take on that i don't even
15:36really think he's guardable you got to make it hard on him and they do have people who can make
15:40it hard on them the defensive end is the key i know this is an uncomfortable thought but here's the
15:45deal minnesota is better than you tonight on paper um so what do you need tonight everybody spends all
15:50their time when you go oh what do you need tonight well you need playoff jimmy and you need pods
15:54maybe actually hit a shot you need jk to do what he's been doing you need this oh we're all talking
15:59about warriors i'll tell you what you need tonight you need minnesota to not be at their best well
16:03they weren't in game one they shot 39.5 from the floor is 17 from three and you have a hand in that
16:10you do defensively you're good but anthony edwards could not hit the broad side of a barn and nobody
16:16other than nas reed in game one could you held them to 88 and you're able to win and you didn't
16:21have steph curry for the majority of the ball game they don't need to be that bad they just need to
16:25not be at their best i don't think right now without steph curry if minnesota is at their best on their
16:32home floor in an elimination game they're going to win but i don't know if they're going to be at
16:36their best in fact more often than not in this series i don't think they've been at their best well
16:40they need to be they don't necessarily need to be that bad but they need to be bad you need to make
16:44them bad and the problem is right now you don't have an answer defensively for anthony edwards and
16:49julius randall over the last couple of games has also been a real problem so i mean draymond in
16:55theory should be able i don't want to say to handle or stop julius randall but he's built perfectly to
17:02make that hard like he's he's built perfectly to to have julius at least struggle a little bit here
17:08and there and that's all i'm i'm really saying if minnesota opens the door a little bit and you
17:14can have some sort of a rock fight win then there's the possibility that the the ingredients
17:21for everything change and that is obviously steph curry returning and then you have a completely
17:27different firepower set on the offensive side and maybe you start getting um some different outcomes
17:33you would only need one right and then you force a game seven and everybody knows once you get to a
17:37game seven who knows what the hell you're gonna get that's what's so frustrating to me is that game
17:42three was that quote-unquote rock fight 102 97 minnesota shot 44 from the floor 38 from three
17:51you got 30 from coming off the bench and pods went one for ten this is not to put it all on pods but
17:57you just needed one more player to be decent and you know draymond had two points in 29 minutes and
18:05pods had five points on one of ten if you just would have had one more guy hit a couple of shots you would
18:12have won the rock fight that you were talking about can you go out there and have another one of those
18:16kind of games tonight absolutely and it's interesting though because we asked steve yesterday about pace
18:23and that's why i was asking him you know you want to get out and run is that really what you're trying
18:28to do because the faster you go the more possessions you're gonna have and i don't know if that suits the
18:34warriors right now i understand that you want to get minnesota before they set their defense but
18:39you don't really have a lot of weapons offensively right now for me it seems more logical and i'm no
18:45head coach but limit the possessions both ways and you know try to get into it more of a low scoring
18:50game i hear you but i also think that it's tough for them right now to get into the half court offense
18:55because they have they don't have floor spacers and so everything gets all clogged up and they're the
19:00shorter team and like in other words take buddy healed how's buddy gonna get an open three in
19:06transition most likely in transition other than that it's gonna be really hard for him and we
19:11don't want buddy uh dribbling the ball into a three-pointer dribbling the ball he's not very good
19:17at it but if you get him a spot up catch and shoot three he's a hall of fame level like literally look
19:23at the numbers he's uh he's just he's generational on catch and shoot so you're gonna do that in

20:20get in there right so what's what's confusing is that we got all these opportunities to get in and you
20:26got playoff jimmy who's not working as i think he's sick or something right but then he's not
20:31taking it to the hole and so is everybody else not taking a hole so if the warriors defensively cannot
20:36hold the timberwolves to 10 or maybe 11 12 they're going to start shooting that jumper shot right
