NBC is putting together quite the TV crew of former NBA players.
Transcript
00:00NBC has been doing a great job of adding former NBA players to its coverage for next season,
00:04and guess what? They just added another former star. Let's get into it.
00:08Now that NBC has the television rights to NBA games and TNT does not, we're going to see an
00:12entirely new cast of NBA analysts, and NBC is building quite the team. In case you haven't
00:17been following along, NBC has been building quite the roster of former players to be on TV. They
00:21would have been a pretty good team on the court, not going to lie, they lack a little bit of size,
00:25but on TV, they should be pretty solid. So far, the network has added Carmelo Anthony,
00:30Reggie Miller, Jamal Crawford, and the great one, Michael Jordan. As if the cast wasn't
00:34stacked enough, NBC just added former NBA player and TNT crew member, Vince Carter.
00:40Carter was a fan favorite in the NBA during his over 20 years in the league. He played for eight
00:44teams, and while he never won a championship, he probably will go down in history as the face
00:48of the NBA dunk contest. While Vince Carter will mostly be remembered for his dunk contest
00:52performance and his crazy in-game dunks, one thing I'll remember about Vince is that he played
00:56for eight teams. And it's kind of funny that Vince Carter played for eight teams because
01:00now he's joining his third broadcasting team. He joined ESPN right after he retired in 2020,
01:04then he joined TNT, and now he's joining NBC. When asked about joining NBC's NBA coverage team,
01:10Vince Carter said, I could not be more excited and appreciative to have the opportunity to be
01:15a part of the historic return of the NBA to NBC and now Peacock. He added, I'm truly looking forward
01:21to joining Carmelo Anthony in the studio and the rest of the broadcast team overall as we embark on
01:26bringing NBA fans best in-class coverage of the league they love. The NBA is set to return to NBC
01:31after 23 years off the network, and while I did enjoy TNT, I'm definitely pretty excited to see what
01:36NBC's got. As a big NBA fan, I have to say I'm very excited about the broadcast team that NBC is
01:41bringing us. Yes, they brought on Michael Jordan, who's a very big surprise because I didn't really
01:45see him doing TV in his future. However, the addition of Carmelo Anthony is low-key, pretty underrated.
01:50He's a pretty quiet guy, pretty understated, but now we're going to be hearing a lot from Carmelo
01:54Anthony, and I think that'll be great. Anyway, there you have it. Vince Carter is the latest
01:58addition to NBC's basketball team. For more sports news, head to athlonsports.com.
