00:14week here on the accuweather network tornado warnings can be scary especially if you get

00:20the alert when you're driving or away from home jeff cornish shows us how one woman in tennessee

00:26was able to safely navigate out of a path of a dangerous storm with the help of accuweather

00:32technology that's built into her new suv did you know that accuweather's interactive radar is built

00:39into the dashboard touchscreen of many new cars trucks and suvs accuweather user kat johnson says

00:45that feature helped guide her to safety during a tornado warning near nashville tennessee workers

00:50at the store she was shopping in told everyone they had to leave the building was not safe leaving

00:56kat with little time to figure out how to get out of harm's way i lost cell phone service as one of

01:01the towers was affected so i had to quickly try and figure out if the freeway was the safest way

01:07home or if another back road was going to get me back home or to a safer destination where i could

01:13shelter quickly and that is where accuweather definitely saved the day using the navigation

01:20in my car i was able to quickly pull up the radar and figure out that by going east i was going to be

01:25able to quickly avoid the tornado and get home to shelter safely using that i was able to see that

01:32the storm was staying kind of farther west so if i got on the freeway that probably wasn't going to be

01:37my best option to avoid it but if i took some of the back roads and head east a little bit i was going

01:42to be able to avoid it and get back home quickly and safely definitely made me feel safer especially as

01:48the two people i'd called i then lost contact with as one of the cell towers was down so it was just me

01:55best dishes and i could and using the tools available would you recommend the accuweather

02:00data suite features on your dashboard touch screen or app to others definitely i think this spans well

02:06past tornadoes um if you have a car that has a soft top like me it's helpful to be able to know

02:13if rain is coming can you take the top off the car or is it going to be a nice sunny day where the top

02:19can stay off the whole time and you might not even need to pack any pieces in the trunk in case

02:23you hit rain on the way back is there anything you'd like to say to the accuweather team who

02:27works to deliver alerts faster than any other source i think that's one thing that really sets
