00:00Hello! Hello! Hello!
00:02I love you means I love you in Korean.
00:05The most important thing is to remember
00:07What is this?
00:15A lesson I'd like to give to the next generation.
00:17I guess I'm an example of someone who came from England to Thailand
00:23and I've always wanted to be in Hollywood as an actor and it's finally happened.
00:28He's got to keep doing it and enjoy the process, that's the important thing.
00:31The lesson that I hope they can take away is to really believe in something that you're passionate for
00:37whether it goes against the grain or it's something that's not usual or it's taboo maybe
00:44and if you're really passionate about it, to just go for it.
00:47I've been trying to get this film, Girls Like Girls, made for 10 years
00:50and it's now getting made and I'm directing it as a woman of colour.
00:55It's so exciting to get to share this night with everyone
00:58and just never give up on your dreams, it's as simple as that.
01:01Anything is possible and you can just do it, you should just do it
01:04and there's nothing stopping other than yourself.
01:07Make your shit great, make it so great they can't ignore it
01:09and you're going to have to survive some things in order to make great things.
01:13So be as creative to figure out how to survive as you are making the thing.
01:17So don't put that aside saying that's not my job, make it all your job
01:20because it's your responsibility to get it made.
01:22Take the thing that you think is holding you back and make it your super power.
01:26Other Asian Americans say that they started skating because of me.
01:30I mean that's the type of stuff that really makes your heart melt.
01:33I feel the weight of the role and really hope that there's more Asian artists around
01:38that young artists can look up to.
01:40Everybody deserves love, no matter who you are, no matter where you're from.
01:44Everybody brings something unique and special to yourself.
01:55Life is too short, enjoy it, you know, live it.
01:59Dream, believe and make it happen.
02:00Dream massively big.
02:02Don't put limits on yourself.
02:03And believe in that you deserve more.
02:07Walking into every room like you belong.
02:09Don't worry about disappointing your past.
02:11There's not one single book that is the same.
02:13Go tell your story.
02:14It is unique.
02:15Find your own plan.
02:16You can accomplish your dreams.
02:18We can do it.
02:19It's really important to really take care of yourself.
02:21Not be too judgmental and be mindful.
02:22So I would say mindfulness is one of the most important things.
02:25I want to be a doula for every woman, man being birthing themselves into their 20s.
02:30You try on so many costumes.
02:32You get to determine what fits.
02:33You get to keep the hat, keep the bra, keep the nipple covers, keep the shoes of any outfit
02:37that you try on and it makes up you.
02:38So don't be afraid to try something on.
02:40It might become a part of you and embrace that.
02:42Anybody kind of paving new ground in sort of the Asian Pacific heritage is great.
02:47I mean people open doors for me and the idea that I can open doors for other people is
02:51part of the reason why I'm working so hard.
02:53Be uniquely you.
02:54You are uniquely you for a reason and you are here for a reason.
02:57So this is what you love to do.
02:59Work really hard.
03:00Don't take no for an answer and anything can happen.
03:02I am living proof of that.
03:03You can see how we're celebrating ourselves and our community today.
03:08And we're running so the next generation, you, can fly.
03:12It's powerful and this is our night.
03:14So it's really beautiful.
