Fox News TV !!! The CyberGuy Kurt Knutsson joins 'Fox & Friends' to discuss the U.S.-Saudi investment summit and the debate over regulation as artificial intelligence continues to advance. #foxnews #ai #artificialintelligence #news #elonmusk
00:00It looks like the Saudi crown prince is launching a new AI company.
00:04Kurt the Cyber Guy joins us now.
00:06So, Kurt, a big announcement this morning.
00:08What can you tell us about it?
00:11Yeah, hours before the president's arrival.
00:13And good morning to you, Lawrence.
00:14It's called Humane AI, and a bit of an ironic name for MBS and the Saudi government.
00:22This is going to be an AI fund that is being established,
00:25largely funded out of the existing PIF fund in Saudi.
00:30And, you know, Cheryl hit on it.
00:32Who's in the room right now?
00:33You've got Metas, which is Facebook and Instagrams.
00:37Mark Zuckerberg is there.
00:38And it says a lot who's in these images that we're seeing on the screen.
00:42Who's in that room?
00:43Another one, OpenAI, Sam Altman.
00:46As you know him from ChatGPT, he is there.
00:50And also here, Mark Zuckerberg's friend, Elon Musk.
00:54Elon Musk in the room.
00:55Of course, a lot going on with AI discussions at this forum that's coming up.
01:01Now, what do they want?
01:02Why are they there?
01:04Well, 960 billion reasons.
01:06Because the crown prince has one of the largest investment funds on the planet.
01:11And this investment fund is ready to go with technology investments from, you know, AI processing, farms to you name it.
01:21Development in this category is exploding globally.
01:24And they really want to get their hands into it.
01:27And they're trying to get their hands on that money and deals made at this conference, thanks to largely the Trump administration putting a focus on technology and the growth of technology back to the U.S. at this point in time.
01:41How would that work, Kurt?
01:43They wouldn't be competitors.
01:44If he has, if MBS has started Humane, this AI company, wouldn't whoever's running ChatGPT be a competitor?
01:51How would that work?
01:52How would our American investors, how would they get access to PIF, which is the crown prince's company?
02:00Yeah, I mean, the ideal would be that we as Americans and our technology American players in the room ideally would cultivate that investment back to the U.S.
02:13So how do we grow in the United States through AI?
02:17We spend money and we spend money here on our own soil or in ownership of AI elsewhere.
02:24And then it grows the American economy and it grows us as a keeping us on the forefront of AI while really China is biting at the heels right now to try to advance beyond us.
02:35Thankfully, right now, without a lot of regulation, we're able to advance very quickly.
02:40But the bottom line here is it's about making deals with that sort of if you're either going to be my friend or my enemy, you're my competitor or you're going to be, you know, no matter what, we're going to dance.
02:50So do you bring that dance back to the U.S.?
02:53Do you try to carve out what our nation can get out of the growth in AI with one of the world's largest funds of $960 billion?
03:03You do.
03:03You get there and you make deals.
03:04So, Kurt, are you suggesting that this would be more of a partnership versus when you look at China, we're concerned that they're stealing all the intellectual property when it comes to AI, essentially just lifting it, and then they say they're making it better?
03:19Yeah, they are exactly doing that.
03:23China has been famous for stealing a lot of corporate America's intelligence, including AI, including a lot of technology advances.
03:31We had a story we're tracking right now about other communist governments that are coming into the U.S.
03:36to just simply steal from us and go develop it on their own, trying to do it for less money.
03:40And in this case, this really is about what kind of deal can we put together with one of the world's largest investors?
03:49This is about talking to money bags.
03:52So, you got money bags and you're in the room.
03:54You're going after it to try to cultivate that funding back to America, back to our U.S. funds, and back to growing technology, which is the forefront of those three major players there.
04:06And those are just scratching the surface of the technology players that are there at this conference.
04:11And if you look back, I mean, they weren't there before.
04:14This was not something that was at the forefront.
04:17You've got a leader of this country right now going, I see something here with technology.
04:22Let's play ball.
04:23And that's why you got the party going on that you're looking at on your screen.
04:27Right.
04:27A quick thing I think is important to bring up.
04:29We need regulation with AI massively quickly.
04:32And I think, believe it or not, word is that China also wants it.
04:35They are concerned about AI getting so powerful, their people begin to throw, you know, they could overthrow their government.
04:42There's all types of things that are unknown that Elon Musk and Sam Altman have warned us about.
04:48But they're saying now, almost like they're doing in college sports, I need the government to come in with some regulation.
04:54They introduced some last week.
04:55It didn't go over.
04:56Tristan Harris has talked about that.
04:58But David Sachs is in charge of that.
05:00We have an AI czar now.
05:01He is there, and he is extremely well-respected and unbelievably successful out in Silicon Valley.
05:08And just a side note to Saudi Arabia's security, keep Elon Musk and Sam Altman away from each other.
05:13They hate each other, and they might take swings.
05:16Right?
05:16Yeah.
05:16I mean, you don't know if it could degenerate.
05:18Brian, you're right.
05:20You're right.
05:21But, you know, what you want to look for here is that—I'm sorry.
05:23Go ahead, Andrew.
05:23No, you go ahead.
05:25What do we want to look for?
05:26I was just going to say that what we're looking for here is when you put up a lot of regulation—and, yeah, you're right.
05:31Brian, we need that.
05:32We need some kind of guardrails on this because, yes, the machines will come after us, and they'll get us.
05:39They'll outsmart us.
05:40They're already outsmarting us now.
05:41They just don't have the weapons or the ability physically to get to us just yet.
05:45But we're right around the corner.
05:47So, yeah, we need the guardrails.
05:48But at the same time, there's a balance.
05:50The more guardrails you put on, when others are not putting on those, the less kind of innovation you're going to see.
05:57It's such an accelerated moment.
05:59It's one of those things where you either win the game or you don't.
06:02You're either the player or you're not in the game.
06:04And the more regulation you pour into the mix, the tougher it is to get anything done.
06:11So how do you get the whole world to agree to one set of guardrails?
06:16Good luck with that.
06:17It's just a real tough play.
06:19And one of those things where we might have to just clean up the mess after some advancements done.
06:24I hate to say that, but it's probably the reality of where we're going, which is just get it done.
06:30Now let's rein it back in before it kills us.
06:33Right.
06:33And we'll talk more about that and all the advancements as we try to make the world a better place.
06:37Thanks so much.
06:39Appreciate you.
