I know because I was out judging on Friday, it takes time and commitment and it's really appreciated.

As I say, I went out on Friday with a couple from the Business of the Year category sponsor, MedSec.

They're not here today because they've got board meetings,

but I know they enjoyed the chats to get out and meet businesses.

For someone like me who spends the majority of time sat in front of a computer,

it's a real eye-opener to get a taste of how other businesses are run.

We've listed three very different types of businesses, all equally inspiring in many ways

and really difficult to judge and genuinely incredibly difficult

to the extent that they only gave me their sponsor this morning of who their winner was.

We're very lucky to have this venue available to us for the evening.

The halls, along with the Grand Theatre, which isn't too far away,

it's really the crowning glory of this city.

And for the millions spent on refurbishment,

I know having come to the opening, the stage is original,

so it's got all the scratches and divots from years ago.
