00:00Joining us live on the broadcast now is Dr. S.P. Vade.
00:12All right, no much, Scott.
00:17Hello, Dr. Vade. Thank you so much for joining us.
00:20You are a former DGP, Jammu and Kashmir.
00:23You're joining us live from Jammu.
00:25I apologize for that slight delay in our audio.
00:29Dr. Vade, you are in Jammu, as I mentioned, which came under repeated fire from Pakistan.
00:34Can you describe the moment right now? How are things?
00:40See, good evening, Susan.
00:43Good evening to you and all your viewers.
00:47See, from 7th onwards, it was difficult, particularly in the evening, evening hours.
00:53There used to be swam of drones attacked, swam of, I think, projectiles, different kind of projectiles, some of them missiles,
01:08who were coming all along this Jammu city and all along the border from Kashmir, Srinagar, Jammu, and many other towns of Jammu and Kashmir.
01:20Also in Punjab, many cities of Punjab, Rajasthan, Gujarat, all along 3,000 kilometers of the international boundary.
01:31So, Pakistan actually launched all these attacks, but our air defense system was so effective, multi-layer air defense system.
01:41It did not allow much damage.
01:43I think 99% of these attacks were prevented, excepting one-odd attack, which actually, with debris coming down and hitting some people, that much damage was there.
01:57But 99%, I think, everyone was saved by this effective system.
02:02Much of it is Indian-made Akash system and also the Russian system.
02:12So, we also had incidents of cross-border firing and shelling from the Pakistani side on many areas of the international border
02:27and line of actual control in Kashmir and in certain areas of Jammu region, like Jowri-Punch,
02:35where we had, particularly in Punch, we had casualties, I think about 15 civilians were killed.
02:42Because Pakistan, we hit them about nine locations, which were terror camps, you know.
02:49They, particularly, the headquarter of Lashkar-e-Taubah terrorists, that is Mureedke, and Babalpur, the headquarter of Jash-e-Mohammad.
03:04Azhar Masood, you must have heard, global terrorists.
03:07So, these were the headquarters of the Lashkar and Jash, which were hit.
03:13Similar to them, about nine such terror camps were actually destroyed by India's missile system, by precision attack.
03:22But they, the Pakistanis, actually resorted to civilian attacks, civilian killing, and targeted the army installation.
03:30After that, India gave a pivoting reply, and India's, you know, the system, it actually penetrated Pakistan's air defense system,
03:42and targeted, I think, eight to nine air bases.
03:47And some of them, in Islamabad, in, you know, the Noor Khan base, where the army headquarter is there, Jakobabad.
04:07And I think nine of them, some of them, very, very, virtually crippling the Pakistan's defense, communication,
04:15and the air defense system.
04:19So, India's very, very effective response brought down Pakistan to its knees.
04:24So, they ran towards Americans, requesting them that we should be saved from Pakistan,
04:31Pakistan should be saved from India's wrath.
04:34So, that is why I'm told the Americans jumped in,
04:39and there was a negotiation between the Vice President of USA and the Secretary of State with our leadership in India and in Pakistan.
04:52And I think, and some kind of agreement was reached.
04:56There are reports in the media, some sections of the media, that India's Akash missile, you know,
05:03India's Akash missile is very, very effective.
05:08And, sorry, Brahmo's missile, sorry, I'm sorry, Akash was the air defense system.
05:15Brahmo's missile actually hit Sargoda and the Noor Khan air bases,
05:30where some of their strategic assets were located, the nuclear assets were located.
05:37I'm told there were some tremors of the scale of 5 Richter scale were also felt in those areas.
05:46And there was leakage of the radiation.
05:53So, some kind of help was sought from America, and an aeroplane was seen,
06:03which is actually used for detecting radiation level in these areas.
06:09So, I don't know how authentic that is.
06:11I'm not a professional, but some sections of the media are reporting.
06:15Right.
06:15That's right.
06:18That's right.
06:19That's right.
06:19We've heard that as well.
06:20My second question, and finally, is, let's talk about the future, Dr. Vaid, as I have you.
06:26What's the roadmap for counterterrorism in India,
06:29as it has affirmed that no acts of terrorism will ever go unpunished?
06:33See, Susan, the Indian government issued a notification saying we have insisted during the negotiation
06:47that any act of terror will be taken as act of war, and India reserves the right to hit back.
06:56You know, that means the Pakistanis will have to control their terrors.
07:05So, knowing Pakistan in the last 35 years, I do not trust the Pakistanis deep state.
07:13Their army and the ISI are rogue, army rogue intelligence agency.
07:21I do not trust them.
07:22My experience tells me.
07:23So, I think this truce may not long last, because terrorists and this PakistanISI and the army,
07:33the rogue elements, will not stop from doing terror incidents.
07:41And India has made it very clear.
07:43If you resort, one more incident like Pahlgaam or Pulwama, any terror act will be taken as act of war,
07:53so India will hit back.
07:55So, I think Pakistan will have to change its policy of Qazwai Hind, the Jihad, which is their motto,
08:07bleed India by a thousand cuts.
08:08But that Pakistan will have to change.
08:11Otherwise, if it continues with the same policy, then I am afraid.
08:16It is going to be the same.
08:16Yeah, well, we will have to watch very closely and see whether those changes do indeed actually happen.
08:22Dr. S.P. Vaid, I am so sorry to cut you off.
08:24I have to go.
08:24Thank you so much for that thorough analysis.
08:27I look forward to speaking to you again very soon.
